Lucy-Bleu Knight, Slash's stepdaughter, left a warning note before taking her own life.
The autopsy report released by the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office on Monday revealed that Knight left behind a sign warning of toxic gas, according to the full report.
The musician, who died from hydrogen sulfide toxicity, had sealed the bathroom with blue tape, according to a report obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital.
In the main room of the residence, a packet of suicide notes was left by Knight, who had no prior suicide attempts but did have suicide ideations, according to the family. Knight had been hospitalized on 5150 holds twice within the last year and was being treated by doctors for her mental health. Although she had not yet received a diagnosis, the family claimed she dealt with hallucinations and paranoia.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) describe hydrogen sulfide as a "colorless, flammable, highly toxic" gas.
The medical examiner's office stated that Knight intentionally combined various chemicals to produce lethal hydrogen sulfide.
The manner of death for the 25-year-old Knight was listed as suicide on Aug. 30.
On July 21, the Guns N' Roses guitarist made a statement on social media about Knight's death.
Slash wrote that Lucy-Bleu Knight, daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.
"Lucy-Bleu was a talented artist with a passion for dreaming, and was loved for her charming, lovable, and sweet nature."
Meegan Hodges, Knight's mom, has been in a relationship with Slash since 1989, although they are not married. The guitarist considers Knight to be his stepdaughter. The couple rekindled their romance in 2015.
"Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul." — Slash
Following the announcement of Knight's death on social media, an account believed to be Knight's shared a final post.
"I apologize for making you feel excluded or manipulated, for telling you to quit your job while being financially supported by my parents, for drowning real issues in toxic positivity, and for missing opportunities and connections due to my big ego, insecure heart, and fear of vulnerability. I hope my soul can learn to evolve from my mistakes as Lucy-Bleu. Peace"
On Aug. 30, Hodges posted a comment on the news of Knight's death, saying, "I love you Lucy!"
