In the horror mystery film 'Immaculate,' Sweeney portrayed a devoted nun.
Despite portraying a nun in her latest film "Immaculate," Sydney Sweeney showcased her playful side on social media.
On Friday, the 26-year-old "Euphoria" star posted a slideshow of photos on Instagram from a recent boat outing with friends.
Sweeney showcased her backside in a skimpy bodysuit while wearing black shades and white sneakers.
Sweeney wrote in the caption, "I believe this is known as a thirst trap."
The Washington state native's first shared photo depicted her standing on a boat, holding ropes and smiling while looking over her shoulder.
In the second shot, Sweeney stood on the boat and gazed out at the ocean while lifting one of her legs.
In a different photo, the actress was seen sitting on a boat and laughing while covering her mouth with her hand.
In the fourth photo of her slideshow, Sweeney was positioned at the front of the boat with her hair billowing in the wind.
Sweeney puckered up and lifted her hand while sitting with her friends, hairstylist Glen "Coco" Oropeza and makeup artist Melissa Hernandez in the last snap.
Sweeney, who played the lead character and co-produced the horror mystery film "Immaculate," posted sultry snaps after portraying innocent novice nun Sister Ceclilia. The movie was produced by David Bernad, Jonathan Davino, Teddy Schwarzman, and Michael Heimler.
"Immaculate," directed by Andrew Lobel and starring Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tabasco, was written by Michael Mohan.
"An American nun embarks on a new journey when she joins a remote convent in the Italian countryside. However, her warm welcome quickly turns into a living nightmare when she discovers her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors."
Filming took place in Rome and ended in February 2023. Some of the filming locations included Villa Parisi, the Doria Pamphilj Gallery, and the ancient Catacombs of Rome.
The world premiere of "Immaculate" took place on March 14 at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. The movie's Los Angeles premiere was held on March 15 at the Egyptian Theatre during Beyond Fest, and "Immaculate" was released in theaters on March 26.
In March, Sweeney disclosed on "Today" that both of her grandmothers were present on set in Italy during filming and made cameo appearances as nuns in the movie. Additionally, her grandmothers were present at the LA premiere of "Immaculate" and posed for photos with the actress.
"Sweeney brought the extras he made as nuns to the premiere in LA, and they were thrilled to be there."
Sweeney disclosed the reasons behind her decision to undertake a project that diverged significantly from her past filmography and television series.
""I believe what I loved about it was its challenging character and exciting story, which fit into the horror genre," she stated."
The "Anyone But You" actor remarked that the movie was dark and boundary-pushing.
""We wanted to explore new frontiers," she stated."
Sweeney expressed her opinions on the movie's reception by audiences.
""I think that there will be a mixed reaction, and I like that," said the "The White Lotus" alum. "I like how movies or endings spark a discussion and debate," she added. "I think it's going to be a wild ride for some people," she concluded."
The final scene of "Immaculate" was filmed in one take with no rehearsals, as revealed by Sweeney.
The final shot in the film was a single take, and you can witness the first take we filmed," she stated. "I prefer to go with the flow and not plan things out. I like to experience things naturally.
"Cecilia was experiencing a range of emotions, including anger, pain, freedom, and fear. During our filming, our director, Michael Mohan, asked if we wanted to rehearse a scene. I responded, 'Let's just see what happens.' And that's what happened."
