Sid Wilson of Slipknot describes the gruesome injuries he sustained in a bonfire explosion, stating, "My face is basically melted."
On Saturday, a 47-year-old rocker was admitted to the hospital and later discharged with his girlfriend Kelly Osbourne after an overnight stay.
Sid Wilson of Slipknot advises everyone to be cautious around fire, as it will always prevail.
Over the weekend, Wilson sustained burns on his arms and face, and later spoke with Planet Chronicle Digital via phone.
"My right arm is fully bandaged, while my left arm is only partially covered. My face has been severely burned, from my nose down to my chin. Despite the burns, the swelling has decreased, and the doctors are impressed with my face's ability to regenerate quickly."
"I've had better days, but I'm alive, so I'm doing okay," he remarked.
On Saturday, he posted videos on Instagram depicting himself in the hospital with an oxygen tube and wires attached to his body, stating that he had experienced a "facial explosion."
The Slipknot rocker admitted to Planet Chronicle Digital that he sustained an injury while working with a wood burn pile on his Iowa property with girlfriend Kelly Osbourne and their 1-year-old son, Sidney, due to an impulsive decision he made.
"Last night, I lit a fire and let it burn down. The next day, I went to check it and found some debris left around the side. Despite knowing better, I added some gas to it."
He continued, noting that he took the gas can "way far away" from the pile near a four-wheeler he was using. "And then I started looking around for a long branch to kind of be at a distance to light it, and then I couldn't find one immediately. So, my lack of patience got the better of me, and I was like, screw it. I'll be all right, you know? And I squatted down and reached out and lit it, and it just, it was really humid out so there was still a lot of vapors lingering around in there, and it just … woof. Exploded."
Wilson declared that he hopped on his four-wheeler and "soared up" the house where Osbourne and Sidney resided, then "rushed inside and exclaimed, 'We need to leave!'"
The 47-year-old confidently drove the family down the gravel country roads before stopping at an urgent care center and later being transferred to a larger hospital in Des Moines, where he admitted his memory gets hazy due to receiving painkillers for his injuries.

"After arriving at the hospital in Des Moines, I was able to release whatever was keeping me going."
Wilson stated, "In the event of such occurrences, one must enter a state of mind where they prioritize their safety before their body fails."
Osbourne entered the interview and stated, "The medical team applied fake scabs to my wounds and covered them up until I could be transferred to the burn unit for treatment."
They were moved to a burn unit in Iowa City, approximately two hours away from Des Moines.
Osbourne served as nurse for Wilson after spending the night in the hospital.
He posted a photo of himself redressing his arms on Instagram, captioning it "@kellyosbourne having the Florence Nightingale effect on me" with a smiling emoji surrounded by hearts.
"His girlfriend of over two years has been completely invaluable and amazing, as he told Planet Chronicle Digital. He said, 'Being here and taking care of all that for me, I'm not really sure what I’d be doing if she wasn’t here doing that.'"
Sidney, the son of busy parents, hasn't realized the chaotic weekend the family experienced.
Wilson remarked, "Fortunately, he's young enough to enjoy the entire experience."
"He added, "I'll say I have a pretty good attitude about it," and Osbourne chimed in, "Yeah, you do!""
"I won't let my low energy get me down. The hardest part is feeling foolish for doing it. It's not the physical aspect, but rather the emotional aspect that's the most challenging. I need to take a step back and carefully evaluate the situation before jumping in headfirst."
In the upcoming days, Wilson has a scheduled appointment for a follow-up, but he stated that he does not anticipate requiring surgery or skin grafts.

Wilson promised fans on Instagram that he would be okay and would see them on tour, no matter what it takes.
The band's website states that they will perform on September 1st in Pryor, Oklahoma.
Wilson assured Planet Chronicle Digital that he would be present and would manage to succeed, as he had previously completed a tour with two broken heels, which he suffered after jumping on a concrete stage during the first show.
"After completing the show for 45 minutes while standing, I then finished the tour in a wheelchair."
Figuring out how to wear the band's signature masks and costumes may require some adjustments.
Wilson, the band's DJ, stated that his hands and arms are the main obstacles he faces, but he added, "As long as my hands are fine, I should be able to perform."
Planet Chronicle Digital's Stephanie Giang-Paunon contributed to this report.
