Shailene Woodley suggests that Aaron Rodgers' unavailability was the cause of their breakup.
In 2022, Woodley and the New York Jets quarterback called off their relationship.
More than two years after her breakup with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, actress Shailene Woodley is discussing her "heartache."
In a recent interview, the actress from "Big Little Lies," who is now 32, stated that she is not open to any performative behavior and was honest about her past relationships.
She told Bustle that she is not interested in the performance of people or the external value we assign to things at this point in her life.
"The ultimate form of soul death, in my opinion, is pretending to be someone else in order to receive love, acceptance, or work from others."
Woodley was asked by the magazine to explain how she arrived at her current position, and she then hinted at the reason behind her and the 4-time NFL MVP's decision to end their relationship in 2022.
"I have come to realize that it is not my responsibility to fix or heal a relationship, but rather to protect the deep care and love I have for the world and my people. This has allowed me to walk away without the need to understand why things didn't go as I desired."
In 2020, Woodley and Rodgers were first linked. At the NFL Honors Ceremony in February 2021, Rodgers mentioned his "fiancée" during his MVP acceptance speech. Woodley confirmed their engagement the following year, during an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon."
Woodley and Rodgers had been engaged for a while when the media learned of their relationship.
"Woodley stated that she gives all of herself in her relationship. Previously, she would continue to give despite disrespect, but now she respectfully goes her way after being crossed. She thanks the person for the information and wishes them well."
Woodley promptly refuted any suggestion that she is not content with her current life stage, despite her search for love.
""
"She mentioned that her experience of physical discomfort during her younger years taught her not to have expectations, referring to a "very scary physical situation" she had previously described."
"Each morning, I declare aloud, 'Today brings magic and miracles!'"
Woodley has been seen on dates since their split, but has not disclosed any information about it. Meanwhile, Rodgers was recently linked to Mallory Edens.
