Selena Gomez couldn't resist visiting her high school volleyball team despite their request for a surprise.
During a visit to Telluride, Colo., for a film festival, the star of 'Only Murders in the Building' dropped by the school.
A Colorado high school requested a visit from Selena Gomez, and the actress obliged.
During the Telluride Film Festival, the "Only Murders in the Building" star unexpectedly attended a girls' volleyball game at Telluride High School.
The girls' volleyball team at the school posted a poster in town requesting Gomez to perform the National Anthem at one of the two upcoming games, either on Friday evening or Saturday afternoon.
Gomez posted about the meet and greet on social media, saying, "I couldn't resist sharing my excitement about my first time in Telluride!"
She also shared photos of meeting the students as well as video.
She hugged and shook hands with the excited group, saying, "I saw the sign and had to come."
Even on one eager young man's forehead, Gomez posed for photos and signed autographs.
To promote her upcoming film, "Emilia Perez," co-starring Zoe Saldaña, the 32-year-old attended the Telluride Film Festival.
The movie, filmed in Spanish, combines musical, comedy, and drama genres and received a 11-minute standing ovation at Cannes in May.
Gomez's post about her volleyball visit received a comment from Saldaña, who praised her as having "the kindest heart indeed."
Benny Blanco, Gomez's boyfriend and a record producer, praised her with three heart emojis.
The two went public with their relationship last December.
Gomez is the person with whom Blanco wants to get married and start a family, as he revealed to Howard Stern.
"Gomez stated to Time that Blanco cannot lie to save his life and will always answer any questions asked of him."
Blanco's ability to block out the noise from his fans impressed Gomez.
"Gomez revealed to Time that he is aware of the hurtful things that his own fans, whom he loves and feels have influenced his life, say about him. However, he possesses the strength to remain unfazed by such criticism. Gomez cherishes every moment with him and is impressed by his resilience. Although the future is uncertain, Gomez knows that his loved one will not be leaving anytime soon."
