Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White unveil a 'new chapter' in the history of 'Wheel of Fortune'.
After 40 years of hosting 'Wheel of Fortune', Pat Sajak retired.
Ryan Seacrest purchased a few consonants and one vowel to convey a message to "Wheel of Fortune" enthusiasts.
Vanna White, the letter-flipping queen, helped Seacrest reveal a small black box with the "RSTLNE" letters for contestants during the prize puzzle.
Seacrest and his partner are thrilled about the new era of wheels, as seen in a series of photos of them sitting together on a couch in a green room.
A miniature "Wheel" game board with "Ryan Seacrest to Launch New Era" was revealed when the new co-hosts of "Wheel of Fortune" opened the box.
Seacrest and White have been building a rapport before the 42nd game show premiere. Recently, White posted a video of Seacrest attempting push-ups near the board, but he fell on stage.
She escorted the "American Idol" host outside for a golf cart ride while she screamed out vowels from a megaphone. Afterward, they returned to the studio for a costume change and black-tie rehearsal.
"Preparing for the upcoming season," White posted on Instagram. "Hosting can be challenging, but we're ready for it!"
As the new host of "Wheel," Seacrest must live up to the high expectations set by Pat Sajak's successful tenure.
"Seacrest expressed his gratitude for being able to follow in the footsteps of the iconic Pat Sajak, stating that it was an honor to watch the duo on TV for 40 years and bring joy to viewers every night."
"I appreciate how you've consistently made contestants and viewers feel comfortable during the contest. I eagerly anticipate learning from you during this transition period."
Seacrest stated that the new hosting gig was a "full circle moment" and announced that White would remain on the show.
""One of my first jobs was hosting a little game show called 'Click' for Merv Griffin 25 years ago, and now I'm grateful to Sony for the opportunity to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White. This is truly a full circle moment for me," he explained."
On June 7, Sajak's final episode of "Wheel of Fortune" aired, marking the end of his tenure on the show, which he had announced on June 12, 2023. He will return to the show for his final farewell on October 7.
Sajak will star in the play "Prescription: Murder," which will be staged from July 31, 2025, to Aug. 10, 2025.
In Honolulu, Hawaii Theatre Center will host a production featuring Sajak as a psychiatrist who conspires with his mistress to kill his wife, and Joe Moore as an LAPD lieutenant who relentlessly pursues him.
The "Wheel" will be hosted by Seacrest for season 42, starting on Sept. 9.
