Rosa, mother of the late Shannen Doherty, reveals she is carrying out her daughter's wishes by taking over her podcast.
A 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star passed away on July 13 after fighting cancer.
Rosa Doherty, Shannen Doherty's mother, is taking action to honor her daughter's wishes.
Rosa announced that she would be taking over Shannen's podcast one month after the actress died of cancer at 53, during a recent episode of the "Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty" podcast.
Rosa stated during the Aug. 15 episode that she would continue doing her best to fulfill her commitment to her because that was what they had agreed upon.
"Of course, I'm not her. I could never be her. I'm not as well-spoken as she was. But, I'm here for all of you, and I hope you're all here for me," she continued.
Shannen found great significance in this podcast as it provided her with the chance to share her story and her truth. Over time, there have been numerous stories, untruths, and mixed-up events that have left her yearning to set the record straight. Finally, she says, "I want to do this, and I have so many people who have followed me over the years and supported me. I just want to give them the opportunity to hear what my life is really like."
"The podcast was a result of her desire to share her experience, which was meaningful to her because she got to witness it firsthand and it helped her through her struggles."
Shannen died July 13 after battling cancer for years.
Actress Shannen Doherty passed away on Saturday, July 13th, after a long battle with cancer. Her loved ones, including her devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, were with her during her final moments, along with her beloved dog, Bowie. Leslie Sloane, her publicist, confirmed the news in a statement.
"The family requests solitude to mourn in tranquility."
In 2015, Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. By 2017, she was in remission, but the cancer returned in 2020.
In November, Doherty disclosed that her cancer had spread to her brain and bones.
The "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress discussed the significance of relinquishing certain "aspirations" and belongings to facilitate a "smoother transition" for her family members as she battled Stage 4 breast cancer.
In an April podcast episode, she stated that her top priority was her mother. She acknowledged that her passing away before her mother would be difficult for her mother, so she wanted to make other aspects of her life easier to alleviate the burden. She didn't want her mother to have to deal with a lot of things, such as four storage units filled with furniture.
We don't need all the possessions we own, and it's beneficial to minimize our belongings to avoid becoming a hoarder, as I used to do with my furniture.
"By making money, I can take more trips and build different memories with the people I love. I can also use my extra play money to take my mom on vacations without digging into my estate's funds, ensuring that everyone in my life is taken care of once I'm gone."
