Queen Camilla's interior designer sister Annabel Elliot is no longer on the royal payroll, as Prince William has removed her.
Over the past two decades, Elliott allegedly received substantial payments, totaling 'hundreds of thousands of pounds,' for her work.
Queen Camilla's sister Annabel Elliot, who worked as an interior designer for the Duchy of Cornwall for almost two decades, will no longer be retained by Prince William.
In 2022, when King Charles III ascended to the throne, the 41-year-old prince inherited the title of the Duke of Cornwall and the Duchy of Cornwall, a royal estate worth over $1 billion.
According to the Telegraph, William has removed Elliot, 75, from the Duchy of Cornwall payroll since taking ownership of the estate.
According to sources, William will no longer hire Ms. Elliot, despite her excellent work.
The insiders stated that her interiors work across the estate is complete and the current staff have learned enough from her.
In 2005, Charles appointed Elliot as the chief designer of his estates after the Prince of Wales married Camilla. The Telegraph reports that Elliot received "several hundred thousand pounds" for her services over the years, and she was compensated through the Duchy of Cornwall.
The Duchy of Cornwall's rental holiday cottages in Cornwall, Wales and the Isles of Scilly were decorated and updated by Elliot.
Elliot was appointed to manage the renovation of a 20-bedroom pub in the King’s Poundbury development in Dorset, as well as oversee the conversion of two cottages and a lodge for guests at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The Duchy of Cornwall's 2023 Integrated Annual Report revealed that Elliot did not receive any payment or reimbursement for work done between 2023 and 2024.
The Duchy of Cornwall paid Mrs. Annabel Elliot £19,625 and £12,316 for fees, commission, and furniture, furnishings, and retail stock in the normal course of business.
The line that had previously appeared in the 2023 report accounted for six months of spending while Charles still held the title of the Duke of Cornwall up until his ascension to the throne on Sept. 8 after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The report stated that on March 31, 2024, there was no amount owed to Mrs. Elliot in relation to these.
The Duchy previously declared that its design work contracts were not open to other bidders, as reported by the Telegraph.
Camilla, 75, and her younger sister recently attended Wimbledon in London, sharing a close relationship.
