Pat Sajak's replacement, 'Wheel of Fortune' host Ryan Seacrest, reveals the one thing he refuses to do.
On September 9, the well-known game program makes its comeback with Seacrest as the new host.
Ryan Seacrest is set to assume the position of "Wheel of Fortune" host.
The new television host, Seacrest, has made it clear that he will not do one specific thing on the popular game show, despite understanding the big shoes he must fill in replacing Pat Sajak.
"Seacrest, 49, advised against making any changes or touching it, as he shared this with "Good Morning America.""
This isn't the first time Seacrest has taken on a significant hosting role.
The television personality also hosted Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and shared how it felt to replace the legendary host, Clark, and how similar it was to take over Sajak's position as "Wheel of Fortune" host.
"It's out of body for me… to have watched Vanna and watched this show and Pat… what they've built with audiences across this country. And what this show means to people in their living rooms every night… their families, and generations of people who have watched this show, it is a very special thing that just doesn't exist anywhere else." — Ryan Seacrest
Vanna White has shared her experience working with Seacrest so far.
"He admitted, "It's out of body for me to have watched Vanna and this show and Pat... what they've built with audiences across this country. And what this show means to people in their living rooms every night... their families, and generations of people who have watched this show, it is a very special thing that just doesn't exist anywhere else.""
In 1982, Sajak and White collaborated on "Wheel of Fortune," with Sajak hosting and White managing the letterboard.
Seacrest, who also hosts "American Idol," revealed how he prepared for the game show role.
""I have played mock 'Wheel of Fortune' games in various cities across America, including on conference tables and in meeting rooms," Seacrest stated."
For months, we've used makeshift wheels and contestants to develop the gameplay and pacing. We hope our efforts will eventually lead to a successful outcome.
In June 2023, Seacrest will replace Sajak as the host of "Wheel of Fortune."
"Seacrest expressed his gratitude for being able to follow in the footsteps of the iconic Pat Sajak, stating that it was an honor to watch the duo on TV for 40 years and bring joy to viewers every night."
"I appreciate how you've consistently made contestants and viewers feel comfortable during the contest. I eagerly anticipate learning from you during this transition period."
Sajak's final episode of "Wheel of Fortune" aired on June 7, a year after he announced his departure on June 12, 2023. Sajak will make his final appearance on "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" on October 7.
