On Sunday, Aug. 11, during the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony, H.E.R. sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" and Tom Cruise descended from the top of the Stade de France.
The athletes in the XXXIII Olympiad were watched by cameras as Cruise flew effortlessly through the sky and landed at the top of the building.
Simone Biles and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass presented the flag to Cruise, signifying the transfer of the Olympic torch from Paris to Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympics.
"Now off to LA, Paris! Thank you," Cruise shared on X.
Before he flew to LA, Cruise rode through town and onto a plane. Upon arriving, he found the Hollywood sign had been reconfigured to display the Olympic rings.
In March, Tom Cruise, the star of "Top Gun: Maverick," filmed a portion of a commercial while displaying his abs on top of a famous landmark.
Before the flag was brought to Venice Beach, athletes cruised around town. The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed before Billie Eilish took the stage.
Snoop Dogg, the Olympic breakout star, returned to the West Coast to perform with Dr. Dre, a legendary hip hop icon, to welcome the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
