Paris Hilton responds to criticism from police over her latest parenting method: "Watching like hawks."
In May, Hilton faced criticism after incorrectly putting her son's life vest on.
Paris Hilton faced criticism from the parenting police over water safety again after failing to put a life jacket on her son Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum during a recent sea outing.
Last month, while vacationing in France, the 43-year-old reality star and her husband Carter Reum chartered a luxury Sunreef catamaran. They shared a TikTok video of their 1-year-old exploring the catamaran.
"Exploring the world with Phoenix has been a special experience for me. I am grateful to be a #SlivingMom," Hilton wrote in the caption of the clip, which was set to Ed Sheeran's 2014 hit song "Photograph."
The video shows Phoenix joyfully exploring the catamaran while wearing a burgundy shirt and shorts. The toddler strolled across the deck, scampered on the mesh netting above the water, and exclaimed "Mama" as he descended a few steps.
Several of Hilton's followers expressed concern that Phoenix was not wearing a life jacket during the excursion after Hilton uploaded the video.
"Please ensure he wears a life jacket at all times while on a boat, as accidents can happen. With love," one fan suggested.
Another follower added that my anxiety about not seeing him in a life jacket could never be too cautious when it comes to water safety.
One social media user chipped in, urging, "Please, from one mom to another, wear a life jacket!"
Another fan expressed fear while walking on the net over open water, as indicated by a string of emojis of monkeys covering their eyes.
I didn't realize there was a net and it wasn't just water, resulting in a small heart attack. Adorable little guy! Glad he's safe. I just woke up.
"Are we all here for life vest advice? A beautiful boat and life, but still safer with the jacket," another follower advised.
Hilton defended her actions on Thursday by stating that she and Reum remained near their son while he explored the boat, and Phoenix was not endangered during the excursion.
Mamma’s, thank you for your advice and constant care for my #CutesieCrew. I appreciate your support as we navigate this big boat with our husband and follow him everywhere, watching like hawks. My babies are my world!
London, their 9-month-old daughter, is shared by Hilton and Reum, who got married in November 2021.
The media personality has faced criticism over her parenting skills before.
In May, Hilton posted a TikTok video of herself playing with Phoenix in the water, but the focus was on the safety vest that was incorrectly fastened backward around her baby son's body.
As fans flocked to the comments to criticize Hilton for misuse, the DJ joked, "Oops," and she assured her followers she was in charge of the situation.
"Another puddle jumper mom shared a tip with me: I think the video is on backwards. However, I love it nonetheless," wrote one fan.
I never let him out of my arms. I thought it was backwards too, but the person I bought it from said it was on right. Thank you for letting me know.
In the same month, Hilton received backlash for sharing a video of her children incorrectly secured in forward-facing car seats.
Hilton later posted an update to reassure her fans that she had taken their advice to heart.
In a Tiktok video, Hilton flaunted her revamped "Sliving Mom Van" with her "cuties crew," consisting of Phoenix and London.
The socialite's children were now properly facing backward and strapped in correctly.
I'm new to this, and I appreciate your mom advice, Hilton wrote.
In February 2023, Hilton and Reum welcomed a son via surrogate, while also revealing that they had a daughter born with the help of a surrogate last Thanksgiving.
Hilton eagerly anticipates becoming a mother for the first time with Phoenix.
"She stated that she and Reum discuss their conversations daily. She is trying to determine the time in her schedule for her numerous projects, including her recently launched media company, 11:11 Media, which is a top priority for her."
