Paris Hilton declares that pop music required saving and shares her personal experiences through her new album.
On September 6, 'Simple Life' star released her second album, 'Infinite Icon.'
Paris Hilton has always looked to music as a way to express herself.
The DJ and mother of two discussed the inspiration behind her new album "Infinite Icon" and why it carries a "deeper" meaning than her previous work in a recent interview with the Associated Press.
"Music has always been a massive passion for me," Hilton, who released her debut album, "Paris," in 2006, stated to the AP. "Someone needed to revive pop music. That's why I'm here."
"My first album was a reflection of my life at that time, during my Party Girl-era. The songs were carefree and fun, focusing on going out and having a good time. However, my second album has a deeper meaning and aims to be introspective, reflecting my life journey."
"I'm Free," Hilton's lead single featuring Rina Sawayama, is a tribute to the TV personality's journey in the limelight and overcoming the challenges she's faced.
"I remember the first song I heard when I got out of Provo Canyon School, which was 'Free' by Ultra Naté," she said.
Hilton revealed that she drew inspiration for her album from that particular moment, which resulted in an all-star team of women, including Sia, Megan Thee Stallion, Megan Trainor, and Maria Becerra, collaborating on the project.
""I wanted to create an album that empowered women and was for everyone, including my girls and gays. I wanted the songs to make people feel alive and like their own unapologetic icon," she said."
Prior to the launch, Hilton posted the captivating album cover on social media for fans to view.
She wrote, "I poured my heart and soul into creating my second album for my incredible fans, and I can't wait for you all to hear it on September 6th."
"You are amazing, Selma Blair said, and I am so proud of you. I love you too."
"I cannot stop listening," another fan wrote.
Four years after Hilton claimed she was abused at Utah's Provo Canyon School, the album release is imminent.
In 2020, Hilton claimed she was kidnapped by two men when she was a 16-year-old misbehaving, with the approval of her parents, and was taken to a congregate-care facility.
Hilton claimed that her staff at the Canyon School mistreated her, including beating her and making her sit naked in solitary confinement rooms as punishment.
"I was subjected to physical and psychological abuse, including being choked, slapped, spied on while showering, and deprived of sleep. I was also called vulgar names and forced to take medication without a diagnosis. At one Utah facility, I was placed in solitary confinement in a room with scratch marks and blood stains on the walls."
In the documentary "This is Paris," the hotel heiress shared her experience.
Since then, Hilton has been an advocate for juvenile justice system reforms.
Hilton stated on "Fox & Friends" in 2023 that she is doing everything she can to fight for children who come from families that cannot help and support them, as well as those from the juvenile justice and foster care systems. These children have no voice, and Hilton is determined to give them a voice and advocate for their rights.
"I am transforming my suffering into a mission and leveraging my influence to bring about change and save the lives of children, as over 100 kids have lost their lives due to treatment in these locations."
