Oasis reunion ends 15-year feud: 'Silence has fallen'
After a split in 2009, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher come together again as Wonderwall singers.
After 15 years of conflict, the members of the renowned British rock band Oasis have reconciled.
Liam and Noel Gallagher, the "Wonderwall" singers, have put an end to their 15-year feud and will perform together onstage for a global tour.
The band's website confirmed the long-awaited UK and Ireland shows, ending years of feverish speculation.
"The wait is finally over. The stars have aligned and the guns have fallen silent. Come witness the event that will not be televised."
Oasis also shared a video montage of their previous performances with roaring crowds at their popular concerts.
The Instagram video clip shared a scene where Liam and I were telepathic, if you understand what I mean.
"No one knows my brother better than I do. When we unite, we achieve greatness."
The caption that accompanied the video was "This is it, this is happening."
Nearly 15 years after disbanding, the "Don’t Look Back in Anger" singers made an announcement.
In 2009, Oasis disbanded following years of internal strife, with Noel departing the group right before a concert at a festival in Paris.
The brothers had always had a strained relationship and did not communicate for years after the split.
Noel, the band's guitarist and songwriter, wrote in a statement at the time of the breakup that he could not continue working with Liam for another day.
Despite not performing together since, both Gallagher brothers frequently include Oasis songs in their individual gigs. Additionally, they have both publicly criticized each other in media interviews.
Noel accused his younger brother of cancelling a 2009 concert due to a hangover, but the frontman denied the accusation and later dropped the lawsuit.
In 2011, Noel revealed to The Associated Press that he left the band following an incident where Liam swung a guitar around and accidentally hit Noel, causing injury.
In 2019, Liam told the AP he was ready to reconcile.
"Being brothers is the most crucial aspect, he stated. He believes I'm motivated to reunite the band for financial gain. However, my purpose for joining the band was for enjoyment and exploration, not monetary gain."
"He continued, "I don't know what his problem is. I believe he just wanted to pursue a solo career, accumulate wealth, and be surrounded by yes men who could be fired and hired at will. That's not how it works with me.""
The band is preparing for a reunion of the brothers, promising fans an intense and sparkling performance.
In 2025, Oasis will commence their tour on July 4 and 5 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
In addition to Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, the British rock band will also perform.
OASIS LIVE '25 plans to visit continents outside of Europe next year, according to their website.
