Miranda Lambert and her 'hot cop' spouse began their romance as pen friends.
In 2019, Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin got married.
Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin's relationship had an "old-school" start.
In an episode of Bunnie Xo's podcast, "Dumb Blonde," Lambert disclosed intimate details about the early stages of her relationship with McLoughlin.
Lambert met her husband on the set of "Good Morning America" in 2019, as revealed by Taste of Country. Her bandmate Angaleena Presley was the first to notice him and referred to him as the "hot cop."
Jelly Roll's wife was informed by Lambert on the podcast that her team invited McLoughlin to one of her shows, but only provided him with a single ticket.
""He came by himself, and we met up, hung out, and talked without an agenda. He was cool, and we just kept in touch," Lambert shared."
Lambert's husband found it "mind-blowing" that staying "in touch" after her show meant going back to the days before technology, according to the country music star.
"Lambert stated, "We exchanged handwritten letters, just like in the old days." He added, "I asked, 'Do you want to be pen pals?' He replied, 'Letters with a pen?'... He's eight years younger, so that was really astonishing to him.""
"We wrote each other literal letters, like, old-school. I was like, 'Do you wanna be pen pals?' He was like, 'Letters with a pen?'...He's eight years younger, so that was really mind-blowing to him." — Miranda Lambert
In 2019, the couple quietly tied the knot, just a few months after meeting.
Although Lambert and McLoughlin originated from contrasting backgrounds - Lambert being a native of Texas and McLoughlin a former police officer from New York - Lambert recognized that they shared many commonalities.
"She stated that he comes from a family involved in law enforcement and first response work. Their attitudes were similar, and he is someone in her life who is not a "yes" person."
Lambert stated, "I disagree with surrounding oneself with 'yes' people and I don't practice it. I believe it's unhealthy, mentally."
She told Bunnie Xo that her husband has helped keep her in line.
"Brendan is brutally honest, and he's from New York, which I appreciate because he always speaks his mind," she said. "He doesn't pull any punches. He's not afraid to call me out on my bulls***."
