In 2006, Madonna established her non-profit organization "Raising Malawi" to combat the extreme orphan population in East Africa.
In 2008, following her divorce from Ritchie, Madonna adopted Mercy, an 18-year-old girl from Malawi. In 2017, she adopted Stella and Estere, who were 4-year-old twins.
Akeem Morris, a 28-year-old former collegiate athlete, was seen with Madonna, who is rumored to be his new girlfriend, just days before her actual birthday in Portofino.
A photo depicted the family celebrating son Rocco's 24th birthday around an elaborate cake, which was just a few days before his mother's birthday.
Madonna expressed her love for her son Rocco on Instagram, writing, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROCCO— the journey through your many moods and incarnations has been tumultuous and full of surprises," she began. "But through it all, your curiosity and artistic soul have been the bond that has kept us together. Thank God for art. Thank God for you. We have been together for many lifetimes. Thank you for choosing me again. I love you— for eternity."
