Kristin Cavallari reveals that she struggled with her metabolism while on the keto diet due to her fear of carrots.

Kristin Cavallari reflects on a period when her relationship with food was not optimal.

In a recent interview with Bustle, Cavallari revealed that she is currently in the best shape of her life due to changes she made in her diet.

"She revealed to the outlet that she was consuming the most carbs she had ever eaten in her life. Prior to this, she avoided carbs and was even scared of carrots due to her keto and intermittent fasting diet, which she believes negatively impacted her metabolism. It took her a year to regulate her metabolism after stopping the diet. Now, she is enjoying the freedom of eating without restrictions."

The reality TV star, who was previously married to Jay Cutler, admitted that her divorce forced her to relinquish control and let go of her plans, allowing things to unfold naturally.

Two years after finalizing her divorce from the retired football player, Cavallari stated to Bustle, "I am much happier and more at peace in my life."

Although she is content with her current life, Cavallari previously revealed on her podcast how her "unhappy marriage" to Cutler negatively impacted her weight and health.

I was even afraid of carrots for a while because I was doing keto coupled with intermittent fasting, and I actually think it messed up my metabolism. And it took me a year to stabilize. "I was very thin," Cavallari stated. "To give you a better understanding, I am 5-3 and weigh 114 pounds. During the filming of 'Very Cavallari,' I reached a weight of 102 pounds while consuming the same amount of food as I do now."

She attributed her weight loss to the stress caused by her unhappy marriage, which left her feeling overwhelmed with responsibilities.

The Laguna Beach star and the ex-Chicago Bears quarterback were together for seven years before announcing their separation in April 2020. They have three children together, Camden, 11, Jaxon, 9, and Saylor, 8.

Cavallari is currently in a relationship with 24-year-old TikTok star Mark Estes, despite their 13-year age difference. Despite the backlash, Cavallari's inner circle believes the relationship makes sense.

"She told Bustle that she owns her own house, has kids, and doesn't require a man for anything other than pure happiness. Emotionally, he has proven himself capable of meeting her needs and has shown up for her more than any other person she has ever dated."

In February 2024, Estes and Cavallari made their relationship public on Instagram with a photo of the two of them captioned "he makes me happy." On a March 2024 episode of her podcast, she revealed that the age gap initially concerned her, but she quickly got over it and is now fully committed to the relationship.

"I don't care what others think, and my entire career has prepared me for this moment, as I haven't given a care about anyone's opinion since the news came out," she stated.
