Johnny Wactor's murder leads to arrests on "General Hospital"
On May 25 in downtown Los Angeles, an actor was fatally shot.
"General Hospital" star Johnny Wactor's murder has resulted in arrests being made.
On Thursday evening, the LAPD declared that the Central Bureau Homicide had executed search warrants at various locations in Los Angeles in connection with Wactor's case, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of evidence.
Four individuals were arrested for their involvement in a murder case. Robert Barcelau, Leonel Guiterrez, and Sergio Estrada, all 18 years old, were booked on arrest warrants for murder. Frank Olano, 22, was also arrested with a warrant as an accessory.
Scarlett Wactor, the mother of the actor, spoke with Planet Chronicle Digital about the arrests and will be informed of more details on Monday morning.
"I'm excited to hear the good news," she said, adding that she hopes for serious jail time for the perpetrators. "Some people don't even get this far, but I'm thrilled," she added.
On May 25, in the early hours of the morning, a bartender was fatally shot while leaving his job in downtown Los Angeles with a colleague.
According to a press release from Planet Chronicle Digital, the LAPD stated that Wactor was confronted by three individuals who had raised his car with a floor jack and were attempting to steal the catalytic converter. Wactor was fatally shot by one of the three.
"The Los Angeles Police Department's Central Area officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Shooting in the 1200 block of Hope Street. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as 37-year-old John William Wactor, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers began to render aid to the victim and requested the response of emergency medical services."
Wactor was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Planet Chronicle Digital reported that Scarlett stated that Wactor and a colleague were requested to remain at the rooftop bar where they worked and were on their way back to their vehicles when he was fatally struck.
As they approached their car, Johnny's parked vehicle appeared to be tilted to one side. According to Scarlett, Johnny asked, "Hey, man, are you towing my car?" The person in the mask responded, and Scarlett understood that they weren't involved. The person stepped in front of the co-worker, backed up, and raised their hands. Unfortunately, the person shot Johnny.
She observed that the workplace lacked designated parking spots for staff.
Scarlett said, "If he had arrived two minutes earlier or two minutes later, he would still be alive."
"He wasn't trying to stop them from taking it, and they could have just left or taken it. He probably would have given them the car," she said. "They were a cowardly person. I hope they catch them and there's justice for Johnny. I can only hope and pray for that. I will see him again, but down here on Earth, it's going to be a very long road without him for me and his brothers."
Anita Joy, the co-worker of the deceased actor, disclosed the distressing details of the incident in the aftermath of his death.

She wrote on Instagram: "I needed time to gather my thoughts after being with Johnny in his final moments. Now, I'm here to speak for him following the unthinkable events."
""Johnny was senselessly killed by a coward who didn't care about the beauty of life they were taking, and I am filled with anger, sadness, and all emotions at once, but above all, I am here for Johnny's justice," she wrote in her post."
""Johnny was in close proximity to the man who shot him, and despite the severe wound, he fought to survive. I am deeply saddened and enraged. My only comfort is that I was with him and this didn't happen to him alone. My only other source of peace will be seeing those responsible brought to justice," she wrote."
On June 12 in Los Angeles, a press conference and march were held by friends and family members seeking answers for Wactor, using the hashtag #JusticeforJohnny.
Grant Wactor, Johnny's brother, addressed the attendees, stating, "We need action. My family and I do not reside here, but Johnny's friends do. They have roots here, and Johnny will continue to have roots here. Therefore, we want this city to be safer for them. We need this to happen sooner rather than later. We thank everyone for their efforts in finding and capturing the suspects, but we hope that any available resources are utilized."
The LAPD issued a community alert on Aug. 4 featuring photos of the suspects believed to have caused Wactor's death.
The Infiniti Q50, a 2018 black four-door vehicle with a tan interior, was stolen.
An event held Tuesday sought the help of citizens in the search for Scarlett and Wactor's family and friends, following the release of their photos.
Scarlett requested that anyone with information should step forward, as reported by The Associated Press.

"Knowing that they've been captured and convicted will aid in our healing process, including my brothers and me."
"My grief is a constant companion, preventing me from wishing him a happy birthday on Aug. 31, celebrating his 38th birthday. I can't inquire about his return home for Christmas, nor can I ask how his day went," she stated.
Brando Corbin was portrayed by an actor on "General Hospital" for 164 episodes from 2020-22. Additionally, he has credits in "Animal Kingdom," "Criminal Minds," and "Westworld."
In June, a funeral was held for Wactor at the Summerville Baptist Church in South Carolina, where he grew up. The service was led by his family, including his mother, Scarlett, and brothers, Grant and Lance.
Scarlett previously stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that her son's death should not be in vain.
She stated from her South Carolina home that the entire city needs to change, although she cannot vote them out or take any direct action, she will continue to advocate for change and maintain pressure until it happens.
"Although I can't prevent everything, I hope for the safety of others and an end to further deaths."
