Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon were seen holding hands during a "long, deep conversation" at the afterparty of the movie "Unstoppable," according to a report.
Ben Affleck, Lopez's ex-partner and co-producer of 'Unstoppable,' skipped the movie's TIFF premiere and afterparty.
It is said that Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon had a prolonged conversation at the afterparty for their film "Unstoppable," which was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday.
Lopez, 55, starred in a movie produced by her soon-to-be ex-husband Ben Affleck, 51, and Damon, 53. While Affleck skipped the "Unstoppable premiere" and afterparty, Lopez and Damon posed together on the red carpet for group photos with other members of the cast including Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, and Don Cheadle.
A source claims that the "On The Floor" artist and the "Oppenheimer" were seen conversing for over 20 minutes at the afterparty, which took place at EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton.
"According to an insider, Jen and Matt engaged in a lengthy, profound discussion, which was observed by Lopez and Damon, who were initially seen laughing. However, their conversation seemed to become more serious, and they held hands for an extended period."
After Damon joined his wife Luciana, their conversation occurred at an outside table with Lopez and Cheadle present.
The inspiring story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with one leg, was produced by Artists Equity, a production company co-founded by Damon and Affleck, and stars Lopez as Robles' mother Judy.
Through her company Nuyorican Productions, the two-time Grammy Award nominee also served as a producer for the biographical sports drama.
In "Unstoppable," Jharrel Jerome portrays the character of Robles, alongside Cannavale, Cheadle, and Peña.
Lopez made a statement on the red carpet in a stunning metallic silver gown that was cinched at the sides with black velvet bows and complemented with silver platform stiletto heels and a matching silver clutch bag.
On Friday, Affleck was seen walking through the garage of a building in Los Angeles while wearing a dark blue suit and sunglasses.
The former couple's most recent big-screen collaboration was "Unstoppable," which followed their previous collaborations in "Gigli" (2003) and "Jersey Girl" (2004).
Since her divorce filing from Affleck in August 2019, Lopez's Toronto premiere marked her first major public appearance.
According to documents obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital, the "Atlas" star announced their separation on April 26, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.
In 2002, Affleck and Lopez first became engaged after meeting on the set of "Gigli." They were set to get married in 2004, but the wedding was canceled at the last minute.
Lopez and Affleck got married in Las Vegas and Georgia, twenty years apart.
In a March 2023 interview on CBS "Sunday Morning," Affleck praised his experience collaborating with his soon-to-be ex-wife on "Unstoppable."
"Going to work with my wife and best friend is such a joy," he said.
"Working with people you dislike and facing difficulties at work can lead to depression, anxiety, and pain. On the other hand, enjoying your colleagues can contribute to a fulfilling life."
Planet Chronicle Digital's Christina Dugan Ramirez contributed to this report.
