Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Morgan Wallen compete for the top country music award.
Seven nominations top Morgan Wallen.
Seven nominations went to Morgan Wallen, who leads the pack in the CMA Awards nominations, which were announced Monday morning.
Wallen is nominated for several awards, including single of the year, song of the year, music video of the year, and two musical event of the year categories.
The singer of "Wasted on You" has been nominated for the top honors of the night, including entertainer of the year and male vocalist of the year. Despite being nominated in these categories before, he faces tough competition this year.
He is nominated for entertainer of the year alongside last year's winner, Lainey Wilson, and newcomer Jelly Roll, and is also up against Jelly Roll in the male vocalist of the year category.
Wallen's collaboration with Post Malone on "I Had Some Help" resulted in many of his nominations, and the song also earned Malone four CMA Award nominations.
Although Post Malone's transition into country music resulted in his first CMA Award nomination, Beyoncé's first official country album, "Cowboy Carter," was not recognized at the awards ceremony.
Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton, both with five nominations each, follow Wallen in the number of nominations received. Stapleton is nominated for entertainer of the year, single of the year, and song of the year for "White Horse," album of the year for "Higher," and male vocalist of the year.
Wilson is nominated for entertainer of the year, female vocalist of the year, single of the year, for "Watermelon Moonshine," and music video of the year, for "Wildflowers and Wild Horses."
Luke Combs is the final nominee for entertainer of the year, and he is also nominated for male vocalist of the year and album of the year for "Fathers & Sons."
The CMA Awards are set to take place on Nov. 20 on ABC.
