Jax Taylor is filed for divorce by 'Vanderpump Rules' star Brittany Cartwright.
Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor share a son.
According to documents obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital, Brittany Cartwright, a reality star, filed for the dissolution of her marriage with Jax Taylor on Tuesday.
In the divorce documents filed in a Los Angeles County court, the "Vanderpump Rules" star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their separation, which occurred on Jan. 24, 2024.
On June 29, 2019, Taylor (Jason Michael Cauchi) and Cartwright got married in her home state of Kentucky with Bravo cameras filming the event.
Cruz Cauchi, the couple's three-year-old son, was also filed for full legal and physical custody by Cartwright, 35, who requested a judge to sign off on child visitation rights for Taylor.
She requested that the court be stripped of its authority to grant financial assistance to both parties.
The community property had not been determined at that time, according to the documents. It will be included in Petitioner's Preliminary declaration of Disclosures, which will be referenced in this document.
Each party was requested to pay attorney's fees and costs, but the petitioner reserved the right to request reimbursement and any other relief deemed equitable, just, and proper in this matter.
After filing for divorce, Cartwright posted a selfie on social media and declared that she was "reclaiming my glow."
In February, Taylor and Cartwright announced their separation, and last month, Taylor sought in-patient treatment and entered a mental health facility due to marital issues.
"Taylor's representative stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that Jax has been open about his mental health struggles, particularly on his podcast "When Reality Hits." He has decided to seek in-patient treatment, and this is a difficult time for him and his family. They request privacy and respect until he is ready to discuss this matter further."
The first season of "The Valley," which aired earlier this year, depicted the marital difficulties of its characters.
After announcing their separation on the "When Reality Hits" podcast in February, Cartwright spoke with Us Weekly about her and Taylor taking a break.
"Over the years, I've forgiven Jax for things he shouldn't have done. Despite everything, I remained loyal to him. However, after nine years, this unwavering loyalty can take its toll," she admitted.
If Taylor puts in effort to repair our relationship, things will be in his hands, and we will see. However, she finds it disappointing that he has not made any effort to fix things.
"Cartwright stated that he believes the person he was speaking to did not think he would actually leave, and it has been three months since. He added that he thinks the person thought he would return and things would go back to how they were, but that is not happening."
Planet Chronicle Digital's Christina Dugan Ramirez contributed to this report.
