Elton John is experiencing "reduced vision" after a health scare.

Elton John is currently dealing with a health issue that has resulted in reduced vision in one of his eyes.
On Tuesday, the "Tiny Dancer" singer shared with his Instagram followers that he suffered a "severe eye infection" during the summer and is currently on a long journey to recovery.
"He shared on social media that he has been dealing with a severe eye infection that has left him with limited vision in one eye. Although he is healing, the process is extremely slow and it will take some time before sight returns to the affected eye."
He thanked his "excellent team" of medical staff and his family for taking care of him "over the last several weeks."
"Elton John signed off "with love and gratitude" after stating that he has been recuperating quietly at home during the summer and is optimistic about his healing and recovery progress."
Numerous well-known figures expressed their support for the renowned musician through the comments section. Sandra Lee, a celebrity chef on Food Network, wrote, "Sending love and wishing you a quick recovery. You're a wonderful, wonderful person, and I know you'll be back in no time." Linda Evangelista, a famous model, also sent her well-wishes, adding heart emojis to her message.
Chappell Roan, a pop star, wrote "We love you" with a heart emoji and a bandage, while Carnie Wilson wrote "Get well soon Sir Elton. Daddy and I were watching your concert together yesterday. He was loving Bennie And The Jets."
John, with limited eyesight, is expected to appear on the red carpet at the premiere of his documentary, "Elton John: Never Too Late," at the Toronto International Film Festival, later this week.
John's career spanning over five decades will be the focus of a documentary set to premiere on Disney+ in December, and it will also include a new song.
Disney released a press statement about Elton John's upcoming final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium. The statement recounts Elton's early years, including his highs and lows, and how he overcame adversity, abuse, and addiction to become the icon he is today.
In August 2024, John shared with his fans the release date of the documentary, describing the process of creating it as a "unique journey through the memories, music, and experiences that have shaped my life."

In 2019, a biopic about the musician's life and rise to fame, titled "Rocketman," was released, starring Taron Egerton as John. John executive produced the project and had been working on it for 12 years before finding the perfect cast and a studio willing to buy it.

In 2018, the musician declared that he would stop touring after a three-year global tour called Farewell Yellow Brick Road. The tour commenced in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in September 2018 and ended in Stockholm, Sweden, in July 2023, with some parts being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"My career has been a dream come true, with 52 years of pure joy playing music. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do what I love. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be here today. You have supported me throughout my career by buying my music and attending my shows. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you for being such an amazing audience."
The singer thanked his friends and family for their support throughout his career and later added, "I will never forget you guys. I've played so many concerts, how could I forget? You're in my head and my heart and my soul and I thank you so much."
