On Aug. 20, two years after their wedding, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck.
"Jennifer has been struggling since Ben decided to end their marriage and move on, leaving her feeling abandoned and alone, according to a source who spoke to People magazine. Despite her desire to work through their issues and save their relationship, Jennifer has been left with no choice but to wait for Ben to come to terms with his decision. The source added that Jennifer is not one to give up easily and has been enduring the pain of waiting for Ben to move on."
The insider stated that she appeared relieved after filing for divorce.
Lopez's loved ones believe that filing for divorce was the "correct choice," according to a source. "She has a lot of love and support around her. She'll be okay. She's resilient and always manages to overcome challenges."
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive a response from the representatives of Lopez and Affleck.
According to a court filing obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital, Lopez listed April 26 as the date of separation for the couple and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The "Love Don't Cost A Thing" singer chose to file without an attorney.
A source informed Planet Chronicle Digital that Lopez has been "devastated" by her separation from Affleck.
The singer, known for her hit song "Let's Get Loud," put forth her utmost effort to salvage the marriage following its rekindling, according to reports.
Despite the marriage ending, Affleck appears to be doing well, according to an insider. The "Gone Girl" star had given up on the relationship a long time ago.
Another source stated that Ben has been his usual energetic self, despite being busy with his kids and work.
Rumors surrounding the couple's marriage have plagued the Hollywood heavyweights for months.
"Jennifer is heartbroken after her marriage ended, a source previously told Planet Chronicle Digital. She started moving out a while ago."
In 2022, Affleck and Lopez exchanged vows during a surprise wedding in Las Vegas.
The couple, who have been together for 20 years, hosted a backyard ceremony for friends and family at the $8 million Georgia mansion Affleck bought when they first started dating.
In 2002, while filming "Gigli," Lopez and Affleck first met. They planned to wed in 2003 but postponed the ceremony. By early 2004, the couple had ended their engagement.
In 2021, they reignited their romance, following the split of Lopez and MLB star Alex Rodriguez.
