Denise Austin's Best Advice for Her SI Swimsuit Model Daughter: "Embrace Your Body and Live Your Life to the Fullest"
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Katie Austin is also a fitness instructor.
Denise Austin's daughter, Katie, initially didn't plan to follow in her mother's fitness career.
Since I was born, I have been involved in the fitness industry, according to Austin's statement to Planet Chronicle Digital on the red carpet for the SiriusXM broadcast during Super Bowl weekend.
I started my first workout video at the age of 7, but I was an athlete throughout my life, so it's difficult to consider a career and personal goals at a young age.
In college, Austin, a Division I lacrosse player, revealed that she wasn't seeking a career in the fitness industry.
"I never considered it. I was solely focused on my sport," she stated. "After I left lacrosse, I became a host on Fox Sports West."
As she progressed in her career, the 30-year-old came to understand that she was on the path to a "full-circle moment" and following in her mother's footsteps.
Denise Austin's daughter shares how she became interested in fitness like her mother.
"I combined my love for athletics and hosting while also being a fitness personality, and it was a subconscious thing, "Oh my gosh, my mom has done this her entire life." Now we do things together and it's a full-circle moment."
My daughters now say, 'Oh my God, my mom grew up with you,' which is really cool because my generation used to say, 'Oh my goodness, it’s so cute your daughter does it with you.'
Denise's daughter Austin, along with her husband Jeff, was featured in last year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and walked the runway with her mother for the 2022 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show.
Austin observed that Denise follows her mother's advice of "Practice what you preach" to a T.
Austin stated, "She consistently follows through on her promises and maintains a positive outlook every day. Her optimism stems from gratitude, and she is thankful for her life. She has always taught me to cherish our bodies and make the most of our time, which I wholeheartedly agree with."
Although her mother is encouraging, she joked that she can sometimes be overly supportive and unintentionally likes negative comments on her Instagram.
""She revels in the criticism of her haters, and I can't help but be amused by her reaction," Austin exclaimed with a chuckle."
Ellie Thumann and Jena Sims joined Austin for the Sirius XM broadcast, with Thumann being a fellow Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue alum and Sims making her debut in the 2024 issue.
Denise Austin's daughter shares the best advice her mom ever gave her.
"Can't we just make Vegas the permanent location for the Super Bowl, given its ideal setting?" Sims remarked.
Thumann suggested that it should be a rule to hold the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, as it is already a fun place and adding the Super Bowl element would make it even better.
"This is my sixth Super Bowl and I can feel the Vegas energy here. Everyone seems to be in high spirits, making it even more exciting. With all the chaos of football, work, and everything else going on, the parties happening right on the Strip with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and our friends make it all the more fun. We're feeling a little funky, but it's all part of the experience," Austin said.
The surge in interest in football among women was being celebrated by both the women and other female influencers, including Taylor Swift.
Thumann stated, "It's been enjoyable to observe girls around me becoming more knowledgeable about it and becoming interested in it. I believe it's an exhilarating aspect. The number of individuals involved is increasing, and I think it's also entertaining for fathers and grandfathers to connect in this way."
I was wearing a jacket in the airport, just like a Chiefs' jacket, and the numerous sweet little grandpas who approached me and showed me random things on their phones or their granddaughters wearing sweatshirts was really cool.
Austin stated that the number of female viewers has increased dramatically. He highlighted the contributions of several female individuals, including Alix Earle, Kristin Juszczyk, Allison Kuch, and Taylor Swift, in helping the NFL reach out to the female community and build connections.
"Now, it's true that females are genuinely caring about football players, not just because they like them, but because they love the game, and this is really cool. This shows that they are not stereotyping and are taking an interest in the sport on their own merits."
Brooks Koepka's wife, Sims, provided advice on being a "WAG."
"Don't lose yourself in it, it's easy to give up on your hopes and dreams and just follow your spouse," she said. "I think successful couples, like Brittany and Patrick Mahomes, Taylor, Travis, me and Brooks, all have their own things going."
She emphasized, "The reason he initially fell in love with me was because I was independent and had my own goals, so remember that and prioritize your career."
