Bruce Willis' ex-wife, Demi Moore, provided an update on his condition as he battles frontotemporal dementia.
On Friday, the 61-year-old actress and the 49-year-old TV host discussed their past collaboration on the 2003 film "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," during which Willis made a brief appearance.
Barrymore recalled working with Bruce Willis in "Charlie's Angels," where he played on the show and opened the film.
"I knew him when he was a bartender at Cafe Central, and I've known him my whole life. How is he doing now?"
"Considering the circumstances, he is in a secure position," Moore stated.
Willis, 69, and Moore, who were married from 1987 to 2000, share daughters Rumer, Scout, and Talullah. Despite their divorce in 2000, the former couple have remained close. Moore attended Willis' 2009 wedding when he married his second wife, Emma Heming Willis, with whom he shares daughters Mabel and Evelyn.
In 2019, Moore was present when Willis and Emma renewed their vows on their 10th wedding anniversary.
"When I’m in LA, I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share." — Demi Moore
Emma and Moore share a close relationship, and their blended family frequently celebrates holidays and birthdays together. In 2020, they quarantined together as a family in Idaho during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Barrymore listened to Moore's advice on how she helps her daughters deal with their father's health issues.
"Moore stated that he advises parents to accept their children for who they are in the present, rather than holding onto their past or trying to shape them into someone else. This approach, he believes, leads to great joy and love."
She strives to spend as much time with Willis and their family as possible, as explained by Moore.
She said that she cherishes the time they spend together when she visits LA every week.
In February 2023, the Willis family announced that Bruce Willis's aphasia had progressed to frontotemporal dementia.
In May, Rumer shared information about Willis' health in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital.
At the premiere of her new film, "My Divorce Party," at the 24th Annual Beverly Hills Film Festival, Rumer said, "He’s great. Yeah, yeah, doing OK. Thank you so much for asking."
"Through this experience, I have realized how much my dad is loved and appreciated, as evidenced by the transparency with which we have shared," she said.
"If sharing our experience can bring hope and comfort to someone else going through a similar situation, then that's everything to me."
