Demi Moore and Michelle Pfeiffer may join the Western 'universe' in season 6 of 'Yellowstone'.
A sixth season of "Yellowstone" is reportedly being developed, with a focus on the relationship between Beth and Rip.
"Yellowstone" fans may be in for a surprise.
The Western TV series is unlikely to end after the release of season five's final episodes, according to a report by Deadline. The main stars for a possible new season are Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, with their romance being the main event.
Despite sources stating that no deal has been reached, there is a strong push to continue "Yellowstone" after Kevin Costner's departure. According to Deadline, Reilly and Hauser have been working on continuing the Beth and Rip romance, but it was originally intended as a spin-off series.
On Friday, "Yellowstone" unveiled the first glimpse of the upcoming final episodes of season five, featuring the intense conflict between the Dutton siblings, particularly Jaimie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) in a heated argument.
"Unlike you, I fulfill my commitments," Beth responded, with Jaime adding, "You destroy me, you destroy yourself."
In the fifth season of the hit show, John Dutton will not be returning to narrate, despite his voice being heard in previous episodes.
The fifth season of Yellowstone ended in January 2023 with a cliffhanger, leaving the Dutton Family, led by John Dutton, on the brink of a war with each other.
On November 10th, the last episodes of season five will be made available on Paramount Network.
Since "Yellowstone" gained popularity, several spin-off shows have been created and are currently being developed.
‘The Madison’
This month, Variety reported that Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the "Yellowstone" universe as the star and executive producer of the spin-off show "The Madison."
Pfeiffer announced her casting in a post on her Instagram account.
The three-time Academy Award nominee wrote excitedly on Twitter, "This cat's out of the bag! #Madison," alongside a screenshot of the Variety article.
According to Variety, the Paramount Network has announced that "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan will write "The Madison," a new series about a family of New York City natives living in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
The Madison," originally labeled as "2024," was described by the network as a "heartfelt study of grief and human connection.
Michelle Pfeiffer is a talented actress who brings emotional depth, authenticity, and grace to every role she plays. She is the ideal lead for the new chapter of the 'Yellowstone' universe, 'The Madison,' created by Taylor Sheridan, according to Chris McCarthy, co-CEO and president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, in a statement to Variety.
Matthew Fox and Patrick J. Adams will join Pfeiffer in the upcoming project. Deadline reported that Fox will be the lead opposite Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer will make her TV comeback with "The Madison," following her role as Betty Ford in the 2022 Showtime anthology series "The First Lady." The show's premiere date is yet to be revealed.
‘Landman’
Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan will direct "Landman," starring Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, and Billy Bob Thornton, who are all also from the podcast "Boomtown.
An oil industry crisis manager (Thorton) will be featured in the fall on Paramount in a series titled "Landman."
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Thorton revealed that filming the series was extremely challenging and pushed him and his crew to their limits.
"Thornton recounted to the outlet how he felt that everyone on the crew would pass out due to the extreme heat on certain days. They were filming at oil pumpjacks, and the heat was intense. Thornton wondered if the viewers knew what caliche was."
"I'm on these caliche roads with rocks in them and cowboy boots, and I have to run to the truck in certain scenes. It's 100 degrees with 100% humidity. Jesus Christ, I'm in my 60s! This just sucks. My God, there were days when it was really tough. This was probably the hardest thing I've ever done."
Sheridan's "unconventional approach" to acting was discussed by Moore.
Taylor's approach to working with actors is quite distinctive. During their meetings, he listens to their goals and aspirations, and then makes a decision based on that. There is no script involved in this process.
"Landman" is coming to Paramount+ on Nov. 17.
‘6666’
The present-day series "6666" will center on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, which has previously been showcased in "Yellowstone."
The 6666 ranch, founded in West Texas during the time of Comanche rule, is the most historically significant ranch in America. It has been operating for over two centuries and covers an entire county. The ranch represents the convergence of the rule of law and the laws of nature, and the most dangerous thing one can do there is the next thing.
‘1944’
The "Yellowstone" franchise is set to launch a new spin-off series titled "1944."
In April 2023, Paramount Media Networks President and CEO Chris McCarthy announced that Matthew McConaughey would star in a "Yellowstone" spin-off series. There have been rumors that McConaughey would be the lead in "1944," but it is still uncertain if that is true.
At the time, the executive disclosed that the "Dallas Buyers Club" actor's upcoming series is among more than 10 projects he is collaborating on with "Yellowstone" creator Sheridan.
"Within five years, we grew ‘Yellowstone’ from a hit U.S. cable show with five million viewers into a global hit franchise with over 100 million fans around the world and multiple extensions – and, we’re just getting started." — Chris McCarthy
"In five years, 'Yellowstone' evolved from a popular US cable show with 5 million viewers to a global franchise with over 100 million fans worldwide and numerous extensions. Following the success of '1883' and '1923,' we are planning two new spin-offs, '1944' and '2024,' which will continue the franchise's signature storytelling and help it maintain its status as a worldwide cultural phenomenon, thanks to the creative vision of Taylor Sheridan."
‘1883’
"1883," a prequel series to "Yellowstone," was released in December 2021 and gave viewers insight into the Dutton family's journey to Montana.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, a country music couple who are married in real life and have children, embark on a journey westward with their youngsters through the wilderness in search of opportunity.
In the TV show, James Dutton (McGraw) and Margaret Dutton (Hill) are parents to two children. Elsa Dutton (Isabel May) is their daughter, while Audie Rick portrays her younger brother.
The Dutton family's journey through the Great Plains, leading to Montana, is a reflection of the nation's western expansion belief that it was meant to settle all of North America.
The cast also included Sam Elliott, Billy Bob Thornton and LaMonica Garrett.
‘1923’
In the following year, Paramount released the second prequel series titled "1923."
In "Yellowstone," played by Costner, Ford portrays an ancestor of John Dutton. Mirren, Ford's wife in real life, stars as Cara Dutton in the series.
The Dutton family is the focus of the show, which is set in the early 20th century and explores the challenges of the era, including western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression.
Brandon Skelnar, Julia Schlaepfer, and Michelle Randolph, in addition to Ford and Mirren, star in the show.
In February 2023, Paramount+ announced that the series would be returning for a second season.
