Dave Navarro is punched onstage by Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, causing the concert to be shut down.
Allegedly, Eric Avery, the bassist of Perry Farrell's band, put the frontman in a headlock and punched him in the stomach three times.
A heated exchange between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro was caught on camera in a video shared on social media, with Farrell throwing a punch.
Onstage, Farrell, 65, lunged his body forcefully towards Navarro, 57, and the guitarist, 57, appeared to place his hands on the frontman's chest in an attempt to stop him from advancing.
The security guards promptly intervened in the fight and instructed Farrell to cease, while they restrained him to prevent any further harm to the guitarist.
Farrell's arm was grabbed by Navarro, causing him to become enraged and attempt to attack the guitarist once more.
Etty Lau, Farrell's wife, shared details of the incident on her social media.
Instead of guessing, I decided to share my personal experience of what occurred on stage with Jane's Addiction last night at the Lender Pavilion in Boston, as Lau wrote on her Instagram.
The fight between Lau and Perry was caused by Perry's patience running out, as his health was not optimal before the band's performance.
"Night after night, Perry's frustration grew as he felt the stage volume was too loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band," she said.
"Perry had been experiencing tinnitus and a sore throat every night. However, when the audience in the front row began to complain about the band being too loud and not being able to hear him, Perry snapped."
In her extensive post, Lau stated that Eric Avery, the bassist and co-songwriter of Jane's Addiction, emerged victorious in the conflict.
Perry was a crazed beast for the next half an hour - he finally did not calm down, but did breakdown and cry and cry.
She shared a video of the Jane's Addiction band members fighting on stage along with her caption.
"That's my firsthand account of what happened. Check out the video for yourself," Lau concluded.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from Jane's Addiction when requested a comment.
