Dave Bautista reveals he's losing weight at an alarming rate.
Marvel actor shares his weight loss journey, revealing he consumes 2,500 calories daily.
Actor Dave Bautista has dramatically transformed himself through his weight-loss journey.
The WWE star confessed to losing weight through self-destructive methods.
He began to explain on Chris Van Vliet's YouTube channel that he started slimming down because he recently gained weight.
"I gained a significant amount of weight for a role, but it was uncomfortable due to the rapid pace of the weight gain. I weighed around 315 pounds and added the weight through indulging in French fries and pancakes."
In the 2023 psychological horror film "Knock at the Cabin," Bautista revealed that he gained weight for his role.
"I realize now that I may have gone overboard. I was likely a bit too enthusiastic," Bautista stated. "I ended up gaining an excessive amount of weight and it took me a long time to lose it."
The more he lost weight, the better he felt, admitted the Marvel actor.
"As I lost weight, I looked better on camera and compared to other actors. However, even at my current height of 6'4" and 240 pounds, I still look like a gorilla next to typical actors, which is distracting."
He persisted in discussing his fans' online concerns regarding his sudden weight loss.
Despite Bautista's claim that he is not "starving himself," he faces difficulty in maintaining his weight.
"I'll likely shed a few more pounds. I'm practically sacrificing myself to be this lean. I mean, I'm working out intensely," he said. "My calorie intake is limited."
Bautista disclosed his diet plan that involves intermittent fasting and not consuming food for 3-4 hours before going to bed, after the actor revealed he only eats 2,500 calories a day.
After confessing his relief at leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Drax in "Guardians of the Galaxy," Bautista made comments.
"Bautista expressed his gratitude for playing Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly a decade, stating that he loved the character. However, he also expressed relief that it was over, as the makeup process was challenging and he wasn't sure if he wanted Drax to be his legacy. He wanted to explore more dramatic roles."
The actor, who was once a professional wrestler, also discussed his experiences in Hollywood.
Bautista told GQ that he couldn't care less about being a movie star.
"I reside in Tampa and lead a simple life. I am not interested in fame or the limelight. My primary goal is to improve my acting skills and gain respect from my peers. Accolades are not important to me; it's the journey and the accomplishment that matter."
