At the Ed Sheeran concert, Chris Hemsworth showcases a new talent.
As part of his mental wellness journey, the Avengers actor picked up a new skill by learning to play an instrument.
Chris Hemsworth has another skill to add to his resume.
At an Ed Sheeran concert, the "Avengers" star showcased his newly acquired drumming skills.
Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran posted a video on their social media platforms to promote the second season of Hemsworth's National Geographic series "Limitless with Chris Hemsworth."
Chris emailed Sheeran in December about a documentary on cognitive health and the benefits of learning an instrument. Sheeran visited him and learned that he had been playing drums since then.
Though they did not specify the date or location of the concert, the "Shape of You" singer added Hemsworth would be playing in front of 70,000 people.
"The 41-year-old said, "I've been thinking about it a lot, and it would be nice to put this one to bed.""
Sheeran unveiled the actor to the audience, and a clip of him playing during "Thinking Out Loud" was shown, resulting in huge cheers from the crowd.
As he receives a participation award for "drumming excellence," Sheeran hugs him backstage and gives him a compliment.
"I’ve been thinking about it a lot… It’ll be nice to put this one to bed." — Chris Hemsworth
The second season of "Limitless with Chris Hemsworth" will be released on Disney+ in 2025.
In the first season, the actor learned he had a higher chance of getting Alzheimer's after undergoing blood tests by Dr. Peter Attia.
"Attia informed Hemsworth that they had conducted all possible blood tests and that he had inherited two copies of APOE4 from both his mother and father."
After the episode was filmed, Hemsworth's grandfather passed away due to Alzheimer's, and his father is currently showing early symptoms of the disease, as he revealed in a recent Vanity Fair interview.
"My dad is going through a transition of acceptance that he is no longer the big, strong man with all the answers who everyone looks to for guidance," he stated.
After the episode featuring Thor made headlines, there were rumors that the actor had retired due to illness or had already developed symptoms.
He admitted to Vanity Fair in May that it really upset him because he felt like he had been vulnerable with something personal and shared this.
"Despite my repeated assertions that the outcome was not a death sentence, the narrative shifted to portray me as having dementia, questioning my life and considering retirement."
Hemsworth resides in Australia with his family, consisting of his wife Elsa Pataky, their daughter India, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, who are all close to his parents.
Despite not being in Hollywood, he remains dedicated to filmmaking, but ponders how long he'll continue.
"I've started thinking, 'S---, how many years do I have left that I can do this?' for the first time in my career," he said. "Yesterday, I went through a list of films with my production partner and thought, 'Well, that's six films. That could be the next decade. That could be it.' Who knows where I am at that point?"
