At the book party for his memoir, "Spare," Harry named the new community space after his "fairy godmothers," Winfrey, Jackson, and Jennifer Rudolph Walsh.
The "Our Local Authors" display on Godmothers showcases Harry's memoir, Markle's children's book "The Bench," and titles from Rob Lowe, Cameron Diaz, Winfrey, DeGeneres, and other local authors.
Montecito, a celebrity-studded town, is home to Godmothers, a restaurant located on a street corner.
Since 2020, Prince Harry and Markle have made Santa Barbara County their home, where they have lived outside the royal bubble.
In 2021, the royal couple sat down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss their reasons for leaving their senior royal roles. Markle disclosed that she experienced suicidal thoughts following her marriage to the prince.
"She confessed to Winfrey that she didn't want to live anymore, which was a persistent and terrifying thought for her."
