Another season of 'Yellowstone' could be filmed without Kevin Costner in the lead role.
The second half of 'Yellowstone' season 5 will debut on November 10th.
"Yellowstone" may continue after the end of season five.
Talks about a sixth season for the Paramount show are currently ongoing, according to Deadline.
According to sources, no deals have been reached, but it is likely that "Yellowstone" will continue with Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly as the leads.
The second half of season five, set to premiere on Nov. 10, will not feature Costner.
Paramount declined to comment on the report when Planet Chronicle Digital inquired.
Rip and Beth Dutton could potentially star in a spinoff show based on the Western series, according to Hauser's previous statement.
"Hauser stated in April that he is highly focused on completing 'Yellowstone' in the correct manner, which only involves the show itself. He added that they will see where that takes them."
"Cole stated, "Although I am aware that Taylor has plans for Kelly Reilly and me, as well as other cast members, I am eager to witness how he will creatively develop those ideas. However, at present, our focus should be on completing our tasks to the best of our abilities.""
In court, Costner's drama with "Yellowstone" was brought to the forefront as he and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner battled over child custody. Planet Chronicle Digital uncovered the reasons behind the breakdown between Costner and show executives during the courtroom proceedings.
According to the actor, although Costner was "offered" to "do season six," it was "complicated."
"He explained that they had negotiated, but there were creative issues. He attempted to resolve the impasse, but they left."
It appears that Costner faced difficulties with the timing of filming "Yellowstone" as he prioritized his current project, "Horizon." At the time, the first movie in the four-part series was in post-production, a crucial stage of putting everything together. Costner emphasized, "I'm here."
"During the filming process of 'Yellowstone,' they decided to make changes, which affected 'Horizon.' I had planned to do my movie 'Horizon' and leave the show, then do B. However, I was only working on a show once a year, but now it was being done twice."
Before the show's cancellation, Costner revealed that he had been offered $24 million for seasons five, six, and seven of "Yellowstone," but scheduling issues caused the breakdown.
Planet Chronicle Digital's Tracy Wright contributed to this report.
