Alicia Silverstone, star of 'Clueless,' alarms fans with reports of consuming a potentially toxic berry.
Silverstone tried an unknown berry while in England and shared a video of it on social media.
Alicia Silverstone, the star of "Clueless," has caused concern among her fans about her well-being on social media.
In England, the actress discovered a strange fruit or vegetable while on a walk and posted a video of herself eating it on social media, with the caption "What on earth is this!?"
She shared with her TikTok followers that she had found something she couldn't identify and needed help, and that she had bitten into it without knowing what it was. She then showed the leaves and explained that it wasn't a tomato.
She bit into another one before saying, "I don't think you're supposed to eat this," adding that the inside of it reminded her of a pepper. She ends the video by asking her followers to help identify the mystery plant.
Silverstone's followers on Instagram and TikTok were prompt to inform the star that she might have ingested a poisonous berry.
"The TikTok user stated that the cherry in the video was toxic, assuming it was nighttime in England. However, other commentators expressed concern about the actress's well-being, asking for an update on her condition."
Another fan commented, "Hey, it's 7am in England. Can you give us an update, please?"
Some people were worried about the actress' well-being, while others questioned the safety of consuming an unfamiliar fruit or vegetable found on a random plant during a walk.
"Achieving a state of non-anxiety by randomly consuming unknown items from bushes is an aspiration," a TikTok user stated. Another user questioned, "What motivates you to eat random things from someone's garden?"
The Queensland Poisons Information Centre states that all parts of the Jerusalem Cherry are toxic, particularly the unripe fruits. Early symptoms include fever, sweating, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, and increased heart rate, which may be delayed for several hours and can persist for a few days.
The cherry tomato-like fruits of the Northern New England Poison Center's described plant have glossy blue-green leaves.
Silverstone has not updated her fans about her condition 24 hours after posting the video, despite their requests for information.
Silverstone has not responded to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
