The duo's holiday album collaboration began with one of Grant's Christmas songs.

After being brought together decades ago with the help of a special holiday, Amy Grant and husband Vince Gill's love story has now come full circle.

In 1983, Gill was enchanted by Grant's voice through a Christmas song on the radio, but they didn't meet in person until a decade later.

Grant and Gill, who have been married 24 years, recently announced the release of their new Christmas album, "When I Think Of Christmas."

Gill, 67, stated in a press release that there is nothing in the world that he loves more than watching his girl excel, and she may do so most brilliantly during Christmas music performances.

"Over 30 years, we have shared stages together, and I have loved every moment of it," he said. "I hope everyone enjoys this collection of songs and hearing Amy's voice."

Grant, 63, stated that Christmas music is a gateway to wonder and awe, nostalgia and "remember when," hope, and a desire for how-we-wish-it-could-be.

As we repeatedly return to the same playlists, those songs have become the soundtrack to our shared memories of gatherings, family, gift-giving, celebrations, and solitude.

"Over the years, I have accumulated a substantial collection of Christmas music, and I am thrilled to add two new songs to it, including the one that Vince and I perform together in our Christmas concerts, "Til The Season Comes Round Again." I hope that these new songs will be well-received and find a spot on playlists, whether during the holiday season or throughout the year."

Grant and Gill, who initially bonded over their shared love for music, marked their 24th wedding anniversary in March.

On the WSM radio show "I Played the Ryman," Gill disclosed what initially attracted him to Grant.

While driving around Nashville, he was struck by how hearing her hit song "Tennessee Christmas" playing on the radio made him feel.

The country singer remembered, "I pulled over after hearing her voice. I said, 'That voice is connecting to me,' and little did I know how much it would impact me."

In December 1993, Vince Gill and Grant first crossed paths when Vince headlined the televised holiday concert "Christmas With Vince Gill" in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Grant joined him as a guest performer alongside Michael McDonald and Chet Atkins.

Grant stated in a 2003 joint interview with Gill on "Larry King Live" that they had crossed paths multiple times before working together. They sang for the troops during Desert Storm at Fort Campbell and found each other to be a nice person. They later performed together during Christmas of '93.

"The singer remarked, "I was immediately drawn to his character.""

In 1982, Grant, known as the "Queen of Christian Pop," married Gary Chapman, and they have three children: Matt, 37, and daughters Gloria, 35, and Sarah, 32.

In 1980, Gill and Janis Oliver, the country music sister duo known as Sweethearts of the Radio, got married. They have a daughter, Jenny, who is currently 42 years old.

In 1993, the "Baby, Baby" hitmaker informed King that there was nothing shocking about their relationship, despite later falling in love with Grant.

"We worked together on a benefit for the symphony in Nashville and a Christmas show with Chet Atkins. Our friendship was strengthened through these collaborations."

Although Grant initially claimed that their bond was platonic, Gill confessed that he experienced an instant romantic connection with his future spouse.

Look at her," he said to King. "Anyone would be attracted to Amy, including me. The bond we shared was unique, and it felt like we had known each other for a long time when we first met.

"We had an effortless conversation, and it was all so simple," he said. "The atmosphere was relaxed, and the conversation flowed smoothly. I simply remarked, 'She's a fantastic girl'."

In a 2011 interview with AARP magazine, Grant revealed that he was attracted to the country star when they performed at three events together in one night during the holidays in 1993.

"She confessed to the outlet that she knew from the tips of her toes that he was unlike anyone she had ever met, and that she related to him on such a cellular level. Overwhelmed by him as a person, she finally came up behind him and wrapped her arms around him, saying, "I've needed to do this all night.""

Though Gill admitted that the feeling was mutual, he was caught off guard by Grant's gesture.

"Grant remembered that it was weird and all caught on film when he went, 'Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!'"

Grant mentioned during his interview with King that he joined her for a duet on the title track of her 1994 album, "House of Love," after hearing Gill's voice live.

During a joint interview with Gill on ABC News in 2003, Grant revealed that she started to harbor romantic feelings for Gill while they were filming a music video for "House of Love."

She said, "I instantly loved him, a part of me."

Grant admitted to AARP that she was conflicted about her feelings for Gill due to her deeply-held Christian values. Meanwhile, Gill confessed to struggling with his attraction to Grant but maintained that they never cheated or discussed leaving their spouses.

He remarked, "Though we were deeply in love, we acknowledged, 'That's not our reality,'" despite being married.

Rumors circulated that Grant and Gill were romantically involved, which led to tension in their relationships with Oliver and Chapman.

In 1997, Oliver filed for divorce from Gill. While speaking with AARP, Grant learned about the divorce from Chapman, who had read about it in a newspaper. By that time, Chapman knew of Grant's feelings for Gill and expressed gratitude that someone had finally acted.

"Grant remembered how painful it was to be married to someone he knew was captivated by another human being. He exclaimed, 'It was awful! Killed me for him.'"

Grant and Chapman attempted marital counseling but separated in December 1998 and officially divorced in June 1999. In an October 1999 interview with The Tennessean, the singer revealed that she and Gill were romantically involved.

In March 2000, Grant and Gill got engaged and married the same month. A year and two days after their first anniversary, they welcomed daughter Corinna.

Grant's children initially resented her relationship with Gill and made hurtful remarks to him, but Gill remained patient and their relationship improved over time.

"When it finally turned to tolerance, respect, and love, after all those things had been said, it was quite a journey," Grant said. "It's like a broken bone that grows stronger if it heals properly."

Corinne's arrival in the family altered the dynamic, according to Gill's statement to the outlet.

"She is the glue that binds our family together," he said. "She has created a strong bond among us through blood ties."

In 2011, Gill accompanied his children to the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Grant. He honored his wife with a heartfelt speech at the event.

According to Gill, Amy's greatest quality is her ability to have a conversation with anyone, whether as a friend or a stranger, and she remains committed to that conversation.

"What I love most about my wife is that when she speaks to you, she's fully engaged and focused on you, not looking for a better deal elsewhere."

"Having had the opportunity to spend time with her as a friend, travel with her on a bus, or receive her help in solving your problems, she is an exceptional friend, and I commend her for it."

In an interview with People magazine in December 2019, Grant gushed about performing with Gill during their Christmas residency at the Ryman.

Every night, I fall in love with him again as I listen to him play because he is one of the most gifted musicians and singers I've ever heard in my life. He makes everything better, sound better, and is funny, making fun of himself, which is disarming.

""He's a crybaby when something is sentimental," she added."

In 2021, Gill won his 22nd Grammy Award for a song he wrote for Grant, "When My Amy Prays." The award was for best solo country performance.

In an interview with CMT prior to the event, Gill disclosed the significance of "When My Amy Prays."

"He told CMT that it's a testament to how much he cares about her and how dear she is to him in his life. He said that kindness is how she leads her life, and it's the first thing you ever notice. It's the first thing you ever experience, and it's kind of unending."

"I think that a part of me loved him instantly." — Amy Grant

In 2022, Grant was treated for multiple injuries, including cuts, abrasions, and a concussion after she struck a pothole while cycling with a friend near a golf course. She was unconscious for approximately 10 minutes after the accident and spent two nights at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

During a concert at the Ryman Auditorium in August 2022, Gill and Corinna honored Grant with a rendition of "When My Amy Prays" while she was recovering from an accident.

In a Facebook post, Corinna altered the lyrics of "when my mama prays" to something emotional.

"Last night, Vince performed his second concert of a four-night residency at the Ryman. He informed the crowd that Amy was improving after a bike crash last week that left her unconscious for about 10 minutes and with a concussion (along with various cuts and bruises). He then introduced their daughter Corrina, who performed a song in honor of her mom. The moment was a showstopper."

Gill stated that he had not performed the song recently due to "her accident and everything she's been through." He also mentioned that he thought it would be sweet for her youngest to sing the song he wrote for her.

In a 2023 interview with People magazine, Grant praised Gill for supporting her through her difficult recovery after canceling several concerts due to a bike accident.

In the two months following the wreck, Grant felt extremely depressed. Everything was canceled, and he couldn't help but wonder if he would ever fully recover.

He said, 'Things happen to people every day, so take one day at a time. We're here, and I love you.' That made every day of the journey bearable.

"And I do feel fantastic."

On July 25, the official date of "Christmas in July," the music icons and longtime couple announced that they will be releasing "When I Think Of Christmas" on Sept. 13.

Home for Christmas" album's hit songs, including "Tennessee Christmas" and "Breath of Heaven," will be featured in "When I Think of Christmas.

O Holy Night" and "I’ll Be Home for Christmas" are two of Gill's songs included in the track list for "When I Think of Christmas," along with two new recordings, including a rendition of the title song performed by Grant and their collaboration "Til the Season Comes Round Again.

The duo will again perform at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for their 14th annual Christmas residency, with dates from Nov. 29 to Dec. 21.
