Adele reveals extended break from music: "I won't be back for a very prolonged period"
The singer with the 'Hello' hit has 10 additional shows planned for her Las Vegas residency.
Adele is saying goodbye to performing for a while.
In Munich, Germany, a singer shared a video on TikTok about her upcoming break after her Las Vegas residency.
"After completing 10 shows, I will be absent for an extended period, and I will cherish our bond."
Adele's representatives did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
Since November 2022, Adele has been performing her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace's Colosseum Theater.
In 2021, she announced a residency, but later postponed the tour, disappointing fans. In an emotional video, she revealed that the quality of her show was not up to standard and that she and her crew wouldn't be ready to start on time.
In 2023 and 2024, Adele extended her dates for her shows, which began. Her last shows are scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 23 this year.
In July, the Grammy-winner revealed to Germany's ZDF public broadcast service that she was interested in exploring other "creative pursuits."
"She stated that she has no plans for new music and wants a break after the current project. She also mentioned that she wants to explore other creative pursuits for a short time."
She also revealed to the media, "I am not fond of fame. What I cherish most is the opportunity to create music constantly."
This year, the "Hello" singer admitted to facing fame pressures.
At an NBA game, she took photos that made her look upset. She revealed that she was unhappy because people were filming her without her consent and that she doesn't enjoy being famous.
"Do you recall the viral meme featuring me with a nonchalant expression?" she queried her audience, alluding to the images captured in February 2022 at the 2022 NBA All-Star Game. She then mimicked the expression she made in the renowned photographs.
She revealed that she was undecided about being recorded during the game but ultimately ended up being captured on film regardless.
"I looked like I had filler because I have naturally big lips, so I don't need it, but the reason I looked like a different person was because I was sulking because I was being filmed against my will," she said in a fan-recorded video.
I didn't realize it was being shown on TV, I thought it was only in the room.
"I was ignoring and looking everywhere but in the camera because I was very annoyed. I asked not to be filmed, but I guess I was asking for it by going. Additionally, my face is very meme-able, and I can't help it."
