Adam Sandler's daughters express concern about his well-being: "My kids yell at me"
Jackie, the wife of 'Happy Gilmore' actor, has 2 daughters with him.
Adam Sandler's daughters have already started following in their famous father's footsteps by dipping their toes into the acting world, but the actor says his daughters mirror him in another surprising way.
"At the premiere of his Netflix comedy special, "Adam Sandler: Love You," Sandler said that his family always takes care of him and his health, just like he did with his dad."
"I used to scream at my dad to quit smoking and my kids used to scream at me to calm down and eat more like a normal person."
Jackie, his wife, shares daughters Sadie, 18, and Sunny, 15 with him, all of whom appeared in his film "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah," last August.
On the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, Sandler discussed his challenges with maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise.
"My kids scream at me to just calm down and try to eat a little more like a normal person." — Adam Sandler
"I used to take working out seriously, but now I can't seem to stick to it," he admitted. "I play basketball and then I eat. Every time I'm eating, I can't help but wonder why I'm doing it. I can't seem to stop, and now I have a bit of extra weight all over."
"Staying in shape is now a challenge," he admitted, referencing his 2008 film "You Don't Mess with the Zohan."
"Why did you stop giving that up?" she inquired.
Sandler stated that he conveyed to his daughter the notion of "a considerable amount of effort" being required.
"I can't jump in there," Sandler said, lamenting. "She's right about everything [but] I don't promise her. I go, 'Let me think about that; that's a good idea,'" he said of managing his daughter's expectations.
Sandler has given his daughter's advice on the industry.
"He previously advised People to ensure that they feel good about their work and the effort they put in, and to judge themselves based on their own standards. He urged them not to let too many people influence their thoughts and to focus on giving their best. If they felt they had given it their all, that was all they could ask for."
Adam Sandler's Netflix special premieres on Aug. 27.
