The New York Jets could be impacted by Donald Trump's election victory.
Woody Johnson served as an ambassador to the UK during Trump's presidency.
Despite selling his professional football teams over 40 years ago, Donald Trump's influence can still be seen on one of them.
The New York Jets could be directly affected after winning the 2024 election.
Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, could potentially return to his position as Trump's ambassador to the United Kingdom.
CBS Sports reports that the Jets are preparing for the possibility of Johnson working alongside Trump again, according to SportsNet New York.
Johnson was referred to as "Ambassador Johnson" during a conference call about his firing of Robert Saleh.
In January 2017, Johnson left the Jets to work for Trump, leaving his brother Chris in charge of the team.
During Chris's tenure, the Jets made some questionable moves. Chris dismissed former general manager Mike Maccagnan shortly after the 2019 NFL Draft.
Joe Douglas, who was hired by Chris, subsequently hired Saleh as the team's head coach to replace Adam Gase. Saleh's appointment occurred shortly before President Biden's inauguration.
Despite starting the season 2-3, Woody fired Saleh five games in. The Jets lost their first three games after Saleh's dismissal but won again on Oct. 31 against the Houston Texans.
There was speculation Johnson fired Saleh because the team lost in London.
