Micah Parsons, a cowboy, discloses the hope he can fulfill for owner Jerry Jones.
Jones wants to win Super Bowl not just for himself, teammates but Parsons, too.
The objective of the Dallas Cowboys every season is the same as every other NFL franchise, but the weight of not winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season is more significant.
Despite Jerry Jones' continued success in building championship teams, Dallas has yet to reach the Super Bowl since their 1995 victory and has made playoff appearances 13 times since then, including the last three years.
To win the trophy, the Cowboys, who are currently 1-1 in the 2024 campaign, need all their stars on the roster. Among them is edge rusher Micah Parsons.
Like any NFL player, Parsons desires to hold the trophy with confetti falling on his head, but he also promised Jones that he would help him achieve this goal when he was drafted 12th overall by the franchise in 2021.
"Parsons pledged to Jerry when he first arrived at Raising Cane's x Post Malone x Dallas Cowboys restaurant in Dallas that he would be the best person for the team and the best thing to ever happen to the organization. He hopes to earn a ring before anything happens or before he leaves the Cowboys uniform."
Parsons is the best of the "Big Three" and his long-term extension is what makes some Cowboys fans nervous.
Jones not only granted CeeDee Lamb's request for a new deal, but also secured a lucrative contract for quarterback Dak Prescott.
The two deals brought joy to Parsons as he eagerly anticipates receiving his own payment.
""The fact that two of our best stars and players in the NFL will be with us for the long run is very significant," he stated."
On his "The Edge with Micah Parsons Podcast," Parsons stated that he has no intention of traveling anywhere else.
He stated that he will be a Cowboys player, but he is not putting any pressure on Jones to pay him immediately. Parsons has the option to play for another year and the Cowboys' ability to franchise tag him if necessary.
""I must continue playing at a high level and managing my business, as that's what's been done for me. I have no idea what the future holds, so I'm simply following the path that God has laid out for me," he said to Planet Chronicle Digital."
But the contract talk is for the future.
The Cowboys are determined to recover from their Week 2 loss to the Saints and defeat the Ravens in Week 3.
Parsons aims to accumulate victories to secure a playoff spot and fulfill his pledge to Jones.
