An 82-year-old man was allegedly involved in a dispute with a 46-year-old man over exercise equipment at a Planet Fitness in Rhode Island.
On Wednesday, in North Providence, Rhode Island, a former New England Patriots fullback, Patrick Pass, was arrested for allegedly assaulting an elderly man at a Planet Fitness gym.
According to multiple reports, Pass, 46, was allegedly involved in a dispute with an 82-year-old man over exercise equipment at the gym before the former NFL player pushed the victim to the ground.
The man reportedly sustained back injuries from the fall to the ground.
According to the New York Post, Pass was arrested and charged with assaulting a man over 60 years of age, resulting in bodily injury, which is a felony in Rhode Island, as well as disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
Court records indicate that Pass was granted $10,000 personal recognizance and instructed not to communicate with the victim.
Pass’ next court date is scheduled for January.
Over his eight-year career, Pass won four Super Bowl titles, including one game in his final season with the New York Giants in 2007, when they defeated Tom Brady and the Patriots to end their undefeated season.
In the 2000 NFL Draft, Pass, a seventh-round pick, had 526 yards rushing with three touchdowns in 78 games with the Patriots, one round after the selection of Brady.
He also caught 66 balls for 570 receiving yards with a touchdown.
Recently, Pass was a coach for the Massachusetts Pirates in the Indoor Football League, but he was suspended indefinitely after a brawl occurred during a game with the Arizona Rattlers, resulting in players jumping into the stands.
