ESPN executives were 'p---ed off' by Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo's shtick, which led to his getting 'in trouble'.
Russo admitted to taking a gummy on set and mentioning colleague Jessica Mendoza.
Even some of the most legendary media personalities aren't perfect.
Last week, Russo confessed that he had been "flying" before Stephen A. Smith discussed "Yankee nonsense" of the World Series.
But he namedropped another ESPN employee, which apparently crossed a line.
Mendoza did not consume a gummy, as Russo pointed out in the episode. Russo stated that Mendoza only "saw it."
During an interview on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, Russo stated that ESPN executives were "pissed off" by his shtick.

Russo has previously made headlines with a "First Take" appearance. In the past, he stated that the assassination of John F. Kennedy was not a solitary act.
"Anyone who believes that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone is delusional, in my opinion," he stated.
