In early April, Caitlin Clark fulfilled her lifelong dream when the Indiana Fever picked her first overall in the WNBA Draft, following a standout career at Iowa.

Although she experienced the greatest excitement, the women's basketball prodigy's night was not flawless.

She joked about getting "two hours of sleep" and having "zero recollection" of the weekend during her appearance on "Saturday Night Live," which she made in New York for the draft.

She couldn't watch the rest of the draft, missing out on some great moments with friends.

"After being drafted, I was immediately drugged out and didn't get to see the draft. I had my phone, but I couldn't use it, which made me even more upset," Clark shared on the "Fresh Talk" podcast with her former Hawkeyes teammates.

"I missed seeing Kate Martin get drafted, which made me upset. Despite that, we had fun, but I didn't take pictures with my family, including my boyfriend Connor McCaffrey."

Throughout the year, Clark was one of the most talked-about athletes in sports, with many admiring her skills on the court and some feeling jealous of her newfound fame.

Others claimed that Clark and Angel Reese were being utilized in a "race war."

As the No. 1 pick, Clark has lived up to expectations by recording the most assists in a single season and narrowly missing out on a unanimous win for Rookie of the Year.
