Dylan Holloway is a tough hockey player.
On Tuesday night, Holloway's St. Louis Blues were hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning when he encountered a terrifying circumstance.
In the first period, with about two minutes remaining, Tampa Bay left-winger Nick Paul scored a goal by shooting high and hitting Holloway in the neck with his wrist shot.
Holloway grabbed the area but still managed to play nearly 30 seconds afterward.
Holloway got to the bench and was almost immediately checked on by trainers.
Holloway was removed from the bench and transported to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.
Holloway's airway is open and unobstructed, and there is no swelling around his neck, according to Daily Faceoff.
The Blues said that Holloway is "alert and in stable condition."
Holloway's parents, who were also at the game, went to the hospital to see their son.
The second period began with the final 1:11 being played.
The Blues won the game, 3-2.
