Trump should consider dropping out of the race after the debate, says a Dem congressman.
Trump's campaign issued a stern rebuke.
Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., advised former President Donald Trump to reconsider his presidential campaign after his poor showing in Tuesday's debate.
On Wednesday, Moskowitz released a statement titled "Trump's campaign continuation ability" and expressed similar sentiments towards President Biden after their disagreement earlier this year.
Last night's debate performance by former President Donald Trump was disastrous and difficult to watch, according to Moskowitz.
"I believe now is the time for the former President to have those difficult conversations about whether or not he should continue serving as the Republican Party’s nominee for President," he continued. "For now, I want to give him the space to meet with his family and make that decision."
According to a CNN poll, 63% of debate viewers believed that Harris emerged victorious in the 90-minute contest, while 37% thought Trump won.
Despite Trump's poor performance, there was no widespread shock and concern among Republicans, unlike the reaction to Biden's debate performance in July, which led to him dropping out of the race and endorsing Harris.
On Wednesday, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded to Moskowitz' statement by calling him a "f****** moron," as reported by The Hill.
Trump stated on "Hannity" that he believes his performance in the debate was his best yet, despite attacking ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis.
"I anticipated it, even though we had three against one," he said.
Planet Chronicle invited both the Trump and Harris campaigns for a second debate in October.
"Trump replied, "She wants it because she lost. I don't know. I have to think about it. But if you won the debate, I sort of think maybe I shouldn't do it. Why should I do another debate? She immediately said we want another debate. That's... you know what happens when you're a prizefighter, and you lose? You immediately want a new fight.""
