In a deep blue state, Trump's approval rating surpasses that of its governor.

In a new poll, former President Trump is viewed more favorably by voters in New York, while Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul's favorability among likely voters has decreased significantly.

A poll released by Siena College on Thursday showed that only 34% of voters in New York state have a positive view of Hochul, while 54% view her negatively. Meanwhile, a poll conducted by the same organization found that 39% of likely voters in the state view Trump favorably, with 57% viewing him unfavorably, which is slightly higher than their assessment of Hochul.

According to Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg, Kathy Hochul's net favorability rating in New York is lower than Donald Trump's.

Voters' disapproval of Hochul increased from 39% to 50% in a recent poll.

"Greenberg stated that Hochul's favorability rating has never been exceptional, with only 49% of voters viewing her favorably in a state where 49% of voters are Democrats. However, her favorability rating has now reached an all-time low of 34-54%. Additionally, her job approval rating of 39-56% is also a record low."

On Wednesday, Trump visited his home state and addressed thousands of supporters at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. He pledged to the crowd that he would win New York and save the longtime blue state.

Trump stated to the crowd that his purpose for being there was to ensure victory in New York.

"In many years, it is the first time a Republican can truthfully declare it, and we will accomplish it."

No Republican presidential candidate has won the Empire State since Ronald Reagan in 1984.

"We must complete it. We accomplish it, and the national election is over. We assume the White House, and we repair our country," he stated.

Donald Trump addressed the people of New York, urging them to vote for him amidst rising crime, influx of terrorists and criminals, and economic hardship, stating, 'What the hell do you have to lose?'

Trump has previously stated that he believes he has a chance of winning the traditionally liberal state, even while facing trial in New York City on 34 counts of falsifying business records in May.

"Trump stated on "Fox & Friends" in May that he believed the GOP had a "very good chance" of winning in New York, as it hadn't been achieved in "many, many decades.""

In New Jersey, Trump has campaigned to win the Garden State, a historically blue jurisdiction.

In Wildwood, this spring, a massive crowd erupted in cheers as Trump declared, "We’re going to win New Jersey."

A Siena survey revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris maintains a lead over Trump in New York, although it is not as significant as in previous presidential elections.

"In the last several presidential cycles, New York has been a consistently "blue" state, with Democrats winning by at least 18 points in every election this century. However, the depth of the state's blue hue may have decreased slightly, as President Biden won by only 23 points in 2020. With less than seven weeks until Election Day, Vice President Harris currently leads President Trump by 13 points in a head-to-head matchup, little changed from her 14-point lead last month. In a multi-candidate race, Harris' lead over Trump remains at 12 points, unchanged from August."
