Although he has only officially confirmed three names, other names have been leaked to the media.
After winning the election, President-elect Donald Trump has started selecting his Cabinet members, with many individuals competing for the 24 top-level government positions.
Though only three names have been confirmed by Trump, others have been leaked to the media.
Here’s a roundup of who will join Trump’s Cabinet:
Publicly Announced
Chief of Staff – Susie Wiles
Trump's campaign was led by Wiles, who previously managed his operations in Florida in 2016 and 2020. She remained close to the president-elect after his election and later became CEO of Trump's Save America PAC in 2021.
Susie is a tough, smart, innovative individual who is universally admired and respected. Trump praised her as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history, stating that it is a well-deserved honor. He expressed confidence that she will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again and make the country proud.
United Nations Ambassador – Elise Stefanik
The New York Republican congresswoman and GOP Conference Chair has been a fierce defender of Trump in Congress. She is a strong advocate for Israel, earning notoriety for her aggressive questioning of Ivy League university presidents regarding their handling of pro-Palestinian protests, which led some presidents to resign.
National Security Adviser – Michael Waltz
On Tuesday, Trump appointed the Florida Republican representative and former Army Green Beret as his national security adviser. He is known for his hawkish views on China and Iran.
Trump stated that Mike, a retired Colonel, is a renowned leader in National Security, a successful author, and an expert on the dangers posed by China, Russia, Iran, and global terrorism.
"Mike has consistently supported my America First Foreign Policy and will continue to be a powerful advocate for our pursuit of Peace through Strength."
Israel Ambassador – Mike Huckabee
Huckabee, a former governor of Arkansas, is a strong advocate for Israel due to his evangelical beliefs.
"Mike has been a dedicated public servant, leader, and person of faith for many years. He deeply cares for Israel and its people, as they do for him, and he is committed to working tirelessly to achieve peace in the Middle East."
EPA Administrator – Lee Zeldin
In the 2022 race for governor of New York, Zeldin, a former House Republican from New York, had a strong but unsuccessful campaign against Kathy Hochul. During that campaign, he advocated for lifting the state's ban on fracking. Despite losing his House race for reelection in 2022, Zeldin has remained connected to the Trump team.
Likely picks
Secretary of State – Marco Rubio
According to sources, Trump has chosen Rubio, a hawk on Iran and China, to lead the State Department. Rubio, a Florida Republican and a prominent GOP member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, ran for president in 2016 and frequently clashed with Trump, with Trump nicknaming him "little Marco."
Earlier this year, Rubio was reportedly being considered for a VP position.
Non-Cabinet picks
"Border Czar" – Tom Homan
During his first administration, Homan, who was previously the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was instrumental in implementing Trump's zero-tolerance policy, which resulted in criticism due to family separations at the border.
Trump announced on Truth Social that Homan will be responsible for "the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security" while serving at a "czar" level rather than in an official Cabinet position.
"Tom Homan will be responsible for overseeing the deportation of illegal aliens back to their country of origin."
