House Dems Dismiss Harris' "Alleged" Policy Flip-Flops: "Exaggerated"
Harris' positions can 'evolve', say Democrats.
Vice President Kamala Harris's policy positions have been consistently criticized by Top House Democrats for flip-flopping.
Several prominent House Democrats were questioned by FOX Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn on Capitol Hill about whether Harris needed to clarify her policy changes.
"Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., stated to Fox that he believes the allegations about policy reversals are exaggerated. He added that with time, it will become clear that Vice President Biden's understanding or evolution of policy will change as new information becomes available."
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., believes that Harris has adequately addressed her past.
Ocasio-Cortez stated that she is the current vice president to the sitting president, Biden, and her responsibility is to support the president in executing his decisions. Additionally, she is a leader in her own right, and she is able to balance both roles effectively.
Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., countered the GOP's line of attack as a stale and baseless claim. He cited Sen. J.D. Vance, who was once a staunch critic of Trump but is now his running mate, as evidence.
"Raskin asked Fox, "Why did J.D. Vance change from a Never Trumper to a Forever Trumper, and I won't defend Kamala Harris.""
After the presidential debate in Philadelphia, Trump criticized Harris for changing her stance on certain policies and adopting some of his own.
In her 2019 presidential campaign, Harris stated her opposition to fracking, decriminalizing the border, and abolishing private health insurance. However, she has since abandoned these positions, along with others.
Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., contended that Harris had merely adjusted her stance based on new information.
He stated that it's not about her changing her mind, but rather about finding someone who develops and matures.
