A liberal group believes that Harris is feigning moderation on her immigration views in order to win the election.
Harris has been criticized by Trump for frequently changing her policies.
Vice President Harris' recent adoption of tougher border policies is being criticized by liberal immigration groups, but some are still supporting her, with at least one suggesting her new stance is a show, according to Axios.
Kerri Talbot, the executive director of the Immigration Hub, stated to Axios that she disagrees with Harris' current stance on border policy. She characterized the Harris campaign's proposal as a "Republican bill," but emphasized that she still supports Harris.
Talbot stated that everyone knows and trusts Harris to make the right decisions while in office. He believes that the bill will not be brought up again, as he stated, "I don't think this bill will ever come up again, as is."
Though they still support her campaign, other liberal immigration groups also say they oppose Harris' new immigration policies.
Gina Cummings of Oxfam America contended that the Harris campaign's immigration views should not be presented in the Senate and should not be enacted under any current or future administration.
According to Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Calif, Harris' bill includes policies that have been tried before and failed, which could worsen the situation at the southern border.
Padilla stated that among the candidates in the race, only Harris prioritizes preserving families and offering a path to citizenship for long-term residents. He expressed his support for her.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from the Harris campaign when requested for a comment.
The economy and the southern border are the top two issues for voters, and also the two areas where voters consistently believe former President Trump would perform better than Vice President Harris.
Harris has been criticized by Republicans for her position as "border czar," which she assumed in 2021 when Biden appointed her to tackle the issue of illegal immigration by addressing its underlying causes.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., who chairs the House Oversight Committee, is demanding that the Biden administration disclose information about the conversations between Harris' office and border enforcement organizations.
This week, Troy Miller, the acting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner, received a demand for an update on a previous request from Comer.
Vice President Harris's role as the border czar in the ongoing border crisis must be understood by the Committee and the American people, according to Comer, as stated in a letter obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital.
The illegal entry and release of illegal aliens into the United States under the Biden-Harris Administration have led to numerous murders, sexual assaults, and serious bodily injuries committed against Americans by illegal aliens. Such crimes should never have occurred.
