Kimmel quipped about Diddy's potential presidential run, likening him to a 'Boy Scout' in contrast to Trump.
On Tuesday, Sean 'Diddy' Combs made an appearance in Manhattan federal court and entered a plea of not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
A recent social media clip revealed that Jimmy Kimmel once joked that Sean "Diddy" Combs would make a better leader than former President Trump.
In the August 1, 2018 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", Kimmel queried the disgraced music tycoon about the possibility of him running for president.
"President Trump had his own vodka, but it wasn't as good as yours. Have you ever considered being president?" he inquired.
Combs told Kimmel he "wouldn't make a good president."
He joked that he wouldn't pass any of the things required, but added that Trump had succeeded in doing it, causing the audience to chuckle.
Kimmel compared Combs to a Boy Scout.
""Nah, I like what I'm doing," Combs replies with a grin."
Running for office isn't enjoyable, according to Kimmel.
Combs stated that he believed it was beyond his capabilities to handle the entire nation's responsibility.
Kimmel remarked that at that moment, almost anyone would be performing better than then-President Trump.
If Combs ran for president, Kimmel would be happy to be his running mate, but he joked that he wouldn't do a better job than Combs.
He quipped, "I know you won't run, so that's why I say it."
A 2018 clip featuring Combs is being circulated on social media after his arrest on Monday in connection with a federal human trafficking investigation.
In Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, Combs pleaded not guilty to several sex offenses.
He was formally accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion, and transporting individuals for prostitution. If convicted, he could receive a minimum of 15 years in prison or a lifetime sentence.
He was instructed to remain in custody without the possibility of release. His legal representatives intend to challenge the decision to deny bail.
"The rapper's lawyer stated outside the courthouse after the arraignment that Mr. Combs is a fighter and will fight the charges to the end. He is innocent and came to New York to prove his innocence. He is not afraid of the charges."
On Tuesday night, Kimmel announced Combs' arrest and then played a clip of Trump praising the rapper on "The Celebrity Apprentice" in 2006.
""Is Diddy a good guy?" Trump asked Aubrey O'Day, his good friend and singer."
In the clip, O'Day states that he has no desire to respond to that particular question.
Trump stated, "I believe he's a decent individual, so I'll defend him."
Kim Jong-Un is also considered a good guy by him, so only the best people are chosen.
