In three Nevada restaurants, a CBS reporter found only three supporters of Joe Biden.
In the battleground state of Nevada, the former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are currently in a statistical deadlock.
During her visit to three restaurants in Nevada, CBS correspondent Adrianna Diaz revealed that out of the people she spoke to, only three were planning to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, while the rest were enthusiastic about former President Trump.
As part of a "3 Meals" segment on "CBS Mornings," Diaz visited restaurants in Reno, North Las Vegas, and Pahrump, Nevada to gauge public opinion in battleground states.
Despite not winning Nevada since 2004, the state is still in a statistical tie between Harris and Trump, as reported by co-host Tony Dokoupil. On Monday, Diaz surprised the show's hosts by revealing that she found it difficult to find Harris supporters.
In every restaurant, we found only one Harris supporter among the people willing to talk to us, despite our efforts to speak with everyone. Diaz stated, "I approached every person except for this one guy, but people are really excited about Trump."
In Pahrump, Leanne and Stephen Schaefer, a married couple, openly expressed their support for Trump and their concern for the country.
Leanne stated that she wants someone who is strong, commands respect, and receives respect, and can handle interactions with foreign leaders. In her opinion, Trump is the ideal candidate.
Stephen stated, "I have never owned a gun in my life, but now I own four of them. This makes me fear for our country."
A new group of women expressed their economic concerns, attributing them to the current administration.
The woman attributed the increase in prices to Biden, stating that it is evident at the grocery store and gas pumps.
Another solution is to tear it down and rebuild.
One male voter in the restaurant supported Harris as the first Asian American president.
Despite Diaz's depiction of Pahrump as a deep red region in Nevada, the sentiment persisted in Reno and Las Vegas.
In Reno, a group of women expressed their main worry as being the border.
Debra Canestrini, a Trump supporter, stated that "Illegals must leave."
Canestrini replied, "Nonsense. They're arriving for the benefits."
Tomoko Rogers, another woman, stated, "When discussing immigration, it's important to clarify that we don't oppose all immigrants. Rather, we're concerned about those who have not contributed to our society or worked here legally."
Unlike Ken Lasker, a Harris Reno voter, who was more focused on democracy.
Lasker stated that democracy, which has been in place for 250 years, is currently being threatened by Trump and the Republican Party.
In Las Vegas, voters discussed their opinions on the economy.
Joey Herbert, a supporter of Harris, stated, "What I appreciate most about the current administration is its focus on job growth, which has been a key factor for me."
Francisco Barres, owner of a taco truck, stated that tacos used to cost around $1.50 before the pandemic, but now they are priced at $3.50 or $4 due to the increased cost of meat.
Earlier this month, a CNN poll showed Trump trailing Harris by 1%, with a margin of error of 4.9%.
