ABC News is criticized by Tom Cotton for its handling of the debate after a new video emerges, with Cotton calling it "beyond bias."
ABC is effectively joining the Harris campaign, according to Cotton.
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., criticized ABC News for not verifying Vice President Kamala Harris' statement about U.S. troops during the presidential debate, arguing that they were being used as a propaganda tool for her campaign, as new footage contradicts her claim.
Cotton posted on X that ABC's failure to challenge Kamala Harris' statement about U.S. troops in combat zones is unacceptable and goes beyond bias, effectively endorsing her campaign.
Last week, during the debate, Harris stated that for the first time this century, no member of the US military is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone globally.
During the debate, ABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis fact-checked former President Trump but did not fact-check Vice President Harris.
Despite the moderators not correcting her at the time, ABC News' fact-checkers later determined that Harris' claim was false on Sunday.
The U.S. military has 900 personnel in Syria and 2,500 troops in Iraq, all of whom have been under threat from drones and missiles for months. Additionally, there is action in the Red Sea, and every day, Navy SEALs and Delta Forces special operators can be part of any deadly raid.
The controversy over the moderators' biased fact-checking resurfaced after Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., posted a video of American soldiers in the Middle East being attacked, stating that it contradicts Harris' assertion that U.S. troops are not currently facing danger worldwide.
"These attacks took place recently," Banks stated on X. "Reminder: Kamala Harris lied to the world last week when she claimed we have no active duty troops deployed in war zones. Unfit to lead!"
In a weekend appearance on "Sunday Morning Futures," Harris accused Cotton of lying, stating, "I don't know where those two moderators were fact-checking Kamala Harris with that lie... I guess they were busy wrongly fact-checking President Trump."
The thousands of troops in Iraq and Syria who are repeatedly hit by mortars and drones from Iranian-backed terrorists were likely caught off guard by Kamala Harris' comment, as Joe Biden and Harris have appeased and emboldened the Ayatollahs for four years.
He stated that it was just another instance demonstrating her inadequacy as a San Francisco liberal and her unsuitability for the role of commander in chief.
ABC News did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
