A global tour announced by Shane Gillis will commence in January.
Despite being canceled, the popularity of the comic's star continues to soar, leading to a record-breaking Netflix special.
Shane Gillis, a stand-up comedy sensation, is planning a worldwide arena tour in early 2025.
Shane Gillis, a renowned comic in the industry, is set to embark on his largest tour yet, titled "Shane Gillis Live."
The comic will kick off his tour at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center on Jan. 10, following the success of his 2023 Netflix stand-up special, "Beautiful Dogs."
The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native will visit 27 cities in North America and Europe, including the American Airlines Center in Dallas, the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C., and the O2 Arena in London.
One of the most popular comics in the industry, Gillis, has achieved numerous milestones in his career. His Netflix special reached the platform's Top 10 list in five countries and spent two weeks in the U.S. Top 10. Additionally, his 2024 arena tour set industry records, including breaking the record for most tickets ever sold for a live event at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena and becoming the most well-attended comedy event in the history of Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center.
Along with comedian Matt McCusker, Shane also hosts "Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast," the world's top Patreon podcast with over 5.5 million downloads each month.
Despite being fired from "Saturday Night Live" in 2019 due to old racist jokes on a podcast, Gillis achieved a landmark success.
Lorne Michaels, the creator of SNL, stated that he was unaware of Gillis' past remarks when he cast him on the show, describing them as "offensive, hurtful, and unacceptable."
In February, NBC invited Gillis to host an episode of "Saturday Night Live" after the success of his stand-up specials, the popularity of "Beautiful Dogs," and his partnership with Bud Light for his 2024 tour.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Michaels defended the network's decision to revive Gillis.
"The scandal led to my realization that he was just starting out and had a lot of potential. When he returned to the show last year to host, we saw how talented he was and how he would have been a great fit for us."
Since his successful SNL gig and 2024 tour, Gillis' fame has only grown. Following the viral Trump impressions in his Netflix special, he portrayed the 45th president in multiple episodes of Tony Hinchcliffe's popular standup show "Kill Tony."
Over 21 million views were recorded for the episode featuring Gillis' Trump impersonating comedian Adam Ray's impression of President Joe Biden on YouTube.
On Nov. 15, general tickets for "Shane Gillis Live" will be available on ShaneMGillis.com, with presale tickets available on Nov. 13.
