Florida man imprisoned following intentional attack on woman near polling station.
A man was arrested for allegedly attacking a woman from a different political group outside the Pinellas County courthouse.
Over the weekend, a man from Florida was arrested following a physical confrontation at an early voting location in Pinellas County.
On Monday evening, Andrew Francis, 32, was apprehended for committing simple battery, as per Pinellas County Jail records.
On Saturday, at an early voting site in Clearwater, it was reported by FOX 13 Tampa Bay that Francis allegedly struck a woman with his shoulder outside the county courthouse.
On Saturday, Francis engaged in hostile behavior and hurled abusive language at a rival political group near the courthouse in Clearwater, according to police reports.
According to an arrest affidavit reviewed by FOX 13, he allegedly collided with two individuals from the opposing political faction and "unintentionally struck the victim with his shoulder, causing her to lose her balance."
The political affiliations of Francis and the woman were not revealed.
On Monday night, Francis was still being held in the county jail on a $500 bond.
